Insights For Fellow Mudmen - Random Things You Should Know

Random knowledge and mechanics that while you could probably figure them out, could do with some clarification. (Attributes and Health are covered in my other guide)

Experience and Levels
As you slay and conquer, you’ll gain experience known in-game as ‘Insight’. This is used to level up your character but only once you’ve gathered enough (represented by the bar) for it to condense into an ‘Epiphany’ (shown as a crystal ball next to insight bar). Insight is lost as you die, unless you go and retrieve it, while epiphanies are not and will simply build up until spent.

Teleporting and Links
To teleport throughout the lands you’ll be communing with 'Hand Maidens', the blue hands within pots pictured here;



Rules; you can teleport down as much as you like, this costs nothing and will create a ‘Link’ between the two places (including any other Hand Maidens located between them). You can’t travel up and are told the location is ‘unreachable’, unless a link exists from your current location to the destination in which case the link is spent and ‘severed’.


Whetstones and Smithing
Weapons come in the 4 different ‘humours’ or types and this affects what whetstones can be used to upgrade them for increased damage. The humours are Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic and Phlegmatic and will be located just below a weapons name;



Whetstones needed to upgrade a weapon -
Sanguine weapons: Hot or Wet
Choleric weapons: Hot or Dusty
Melancholic weapons: Cold or Dusty
Phlegmatic weapons: Cold or Wet

The type used has no benefit over the other.


Carrots and Hot Dogs
Found around the world in patches are carrots (mandrakes?) with faces. Killing them grants Humoral Slop, with 3 slop filling an Eternal Hot Dog bite. They're pictured here;



The brown variety grants 1-2 Slop while the golden ones, found exclusively outside boss doors, grant 3 Slop.

Another obscure thing you can add to the list is that you can jump.

You should include the parry system. As well as the different sword abilities.

I have 20 hours of gameplay and I hadn't understood until now how this teleport mechanic works haha ​​thanks for the explanation
