This game doesn't really support modern hardware all that well, but it can be easily fixed by downloading a mod from Nexusmods.

All you have to do is to get the mod from this link[www.nexusmods.com] and then download it. You'll need to create an account in case you've never used this website before.

Once you've got the file, you'll need to extract it. I personally recommend 7-Zip[www.7-zip.org] as it is a free and open source tool, but you can use whatever software you prefer.

Now, open up the game's directory. Right click > Manage > Browse local files as shown in this screenshot below

It should open the game's root folder. Move the .zip file you downloaded from Nexus into this folder and then extract it. The end result should look like this.

And that's it. Now you should be able to play the game without any issues on modern hardware. Enjoy!

Sadly with this I still can't change resolution and I'm stuck with 1920x1200 instead of 2560x1440 :( Also 2x AA is completely dead for me, doesn't matter if it's unmodded game or modded, I can't enable it for some reason.

You'll need to play on the .exe since the game is still in update.

I've had no problems at all. It runs smooth as butter. Maybe it's because I'm playing on Linux? Not sure.

Jeez ppls who comment "you don't need all this" I think can't read - open config of this mod file and READ what it does, you do not need to every time set how many CPU cores u want to setup for game and other bs, that mod works (might not for everybody tho since ppls still say it doesn't work but for me it does) and also that mod provide other fixes.

So if it doesn't work for you try old methods to run game.

I'm on Linux, the game worked perfectly with no modding. Maybe ditch Windows? Really, I didn't even know there were issues I was missing out on. 🙃

Doesn't work. Also don't want to tinker with CPU assign. Is there way to play this game without jumping hoops?

I don't think you realize that its more tedious to do the core diusabling cause it means you have to remember to swap back to normal after, so you can run most other games
