Introduction
Left 4 Dead is a zombie co-op game where you need to survive. It is not just shoot-and-run, it's a testing of patience and teamwork.

Some players, if they're playing, they just let their teammates down, and they won't care. So this is a guide where you can effective survive on Expert mode.
Choose a right person to play with
In lobby, you need to choose a player where they can help you out, and not abandon you because they want to make fun or troll you. Also, you need a player who has a skills where to run and hold out because some players will just run and might incap early.

Better to join on Discord servers named L4DNation (you can search it) to help you out on some expert campaigns. The members there will be interested in helping you out to survive at expert campaigns.
Choose load out
At the beginning, choose two Pump Shotgun and two Uzis to have equal power to kill Commons/Horde and SIs. When there's tier two, then better to have one Hunting rifle, one Rifle, and two Auto Shotguns. For Pipe Bombs, save it for the Horde if you're in open area and running to the checkpoint. Molly is not just for Tanks, but for the Hordes if you have a holdout area.
Watch out for Friendly Fire
Shotguns are number one weapon which are easy to incap teammates. Don't use it when you're near them, instead shove a zombie away, then fire it when it will not hit your teammates. Melee is infinite (or if limited, it's 99 to 100 max melees straight).

Also other weapons can gain more damage to your team, so watch your fire. Take time to clear out zombies, but better to act fast to avoid FF.
SI encounters
Witch
If you heard Witch, these are the three ways to avoid being killed:
  • Option 1: Use Molly - throw it then quickly go to idle, or just run far enough away that she burns out.
  • Option 2: Cr0wnd with Shotgun - quickly crouch and aim to her head and shoot it. If you're not good at crowning, shot multiple times in her waist.
  • Option 3: Head hit using Sniper Rifle - go to great distant and shoot it on her head multiple times. Also, you may need assist on some of your team to quickly kill the Witch.

Tank
If you heard Tank, be prepared to backup a little bit. For Shotgun users, stay close slightly to gain more damage. For Hunting Rifles, gain some distance and kill the Tank. For Rifles, if they throw rocks, you need skeet the rocks if you don't avoid it, you can actually skeet rocks with any weapon even pistols.

Molly at risk because Tank will be faster if his on fire. Unlike in L4D2, Tanks are still the same speed if he's on fire. Also, Tank will focus on the incapped Survivor to kill straight, unlike in L4D2 that Tank will ignore the incapped Surivor and focus on teams to get incap.

Glitch technique: You can kill a Tank if you spotted the ladder and let him up and be on top to trap him up.

Avoiding Tank
You will need to avoid Tank if...

  1. You're lower than 40 hp
  2. If you're in closed spaces
  3. If you have only pistol as a weapon (since it's not powerful to take Tank)

Boomer
If you vomited by Boomer, you can idle in order to clear the vomit, but still the Horde will attack you. Instantly kill the Boomer and shoot it because the second bile will still affect the first bile, however if a boomer booms you again too soon it wont do anything. Better if your teammate has Pipe Bomb in order to throw it, then focus on Boomer to shove it away from you and kill, then deal with the Hordes. Learn where all good holdout spots in each campaign so the moment you are boomed you know where to run to not be swarmed.
Healing and replenishing
The situations for healing by using First Aid Kit if...
  1. ...you're black & white
  2. ...you already consumed pills with red health, and before the Horde attacks
  3. ...there's a Tank ahead and no Pills
  4. ...you're in safehouse and needs to replenish your health

The situations for replenish your health by using Pills if...
  1. ...you need to move fast to catch up with other teams
  2. ...you have first knock out (first incap)
Single Player Mode
The same strat for coop, but you better watch out for your teammates because sometimes, they always stick on you and you might friendly fire them. Also, use throwables in a right time if you see one.

Always clean (kill) the Commons around the area before you proceed because their hit points are higher and you'll easily get incap.
Tips
Here are some unrecognisable tips while playing:

  • If you want to reload fast on Sniper Rifle (only works on mutliplayer), you can idle then go back.
  • To restore permanent health, you need to submerge yourself by drowning to water and take pills immediately.
  • In order to climb faster than usual, then do the ladder climb technique by leaning up or down.
    > If you lean to up left, you need to press forward + right key
    > If you lean to up right, you need to press forward + left key
    > If you lean to down left, you need to press backward + right key
    > If you lean to down rigft, you need to press backward + left key
