You know whats even funnier? i bought the game for my Xbox one on a trip to see if it worked, and after a few days of installing IT WORKED, and the funny thing is that i used the same account as on PC with the same "Inappropriate name" and it didnt tell me anything!
i will update the guide with a few findings i made, for now, i would suggest that you play it on console, thats the platform that actually works, i think you can even connect a mouse and keyboard on console and play.
Im sorry for your issue and i hope that you find a way to play the game
I just bought the game on steam and came cross the same issue, so I submit a Case on Activision.com and chat with the support team, they have given me 3 tokens (each time one) and I still get banned when trying to connect to the online service. Now the support team just told me to wait and couldn't provide an ETA. What's funny is that on the recent version of call of duty like MW2 MW3 and Black Opus 6, I can launch into the game and play with the same account name.
Hope you can fix it in the future.
