While playing the game, you can be invaded by other players. Their goal is killing you. Your goal as a player - survive by any means. Forget about any "bow, no heal, no spam" nonsense, you are not at the duel\arena, invader here is to kill you and ruin your progress through level, you have to defeat him by any means and so does he.

You can be invaded by red spirits, blue arbiter spirits if you are sinner, grey spirits if you are at the Belfry Luna\Belfry Sol and abyss spirits in the Chasm of Old.

Way of the Blue

Blue friendly phantom will be summoned to assit you while invason.


Estus Flask

Estus is your best friend against invaders. Just be careful, using this at wrong time may give invader opportunity to finish you off.



Jesters Robe

Invader won't be able to backstab you.








Ring of Life Protection

Saves your soul and human form in case if you will die. Having this ring equipped already helps alot, because you don't have to worry about losing so much things after death, which means you can be more concentraded on a fight.



Seed of Tree of Giants

Mobs at the location will be unfriendly towards invader. Helps alot if invader decides to run away or just spawned near bunch of enemies.



Chameleon

This sorcery\consumable item turns you into random object, some of them is unique for some locations. Find a good place and wait until invader will give up on you.



Roll!

If you are good in dodging, you can simply run'n'roll around invader until invasion timer ends or he just gets bored.








Dress up as mob

I once been fooled by person who dressed up as Alonne Knight. So... yeah.







Summon a friendly phantom

Just don't lose your mind, be careful because skilled invaders can win even against 2v1.

Warmth

This pyromancy can be much more dangerous than you can expect. Some invaders putting it right at the place where you supposed to fight them, so they can regenrate their health while dealing damage to you. You have to run from this place and force him to waste all his warmths until starting a real fight.

Running away

Some invaders will run away from you to the hordes of enemies to heal\buff, of wait for second invader in case of bell covenant. Punish them with seed of tree of giants.




Climax

This spell usually oneshots people and consumes all casters souls. Note that invader can regain soul for more casts by using souls from inventory. Dodge all of them until invader will run out of casts or use shield with 100% dark resistance. Beware of cameleon+climax combination.

Hackers

DS2 hackers can negate gravity and teleport you to the boss rooms, just jump from a cliff with life save ring equipped.

Honourable invaders

These invaders acting fair towards you and trying to have duel - no healing, no running away, etc. They symbolizing their invite to duel through "Bow" or "Duel bow" animation. If you don't have some serious reasons to move through level without dying, you can accept duel by doing bowing gesture or any other friendly gestures. Just keep eye on them, you can't trust to anyone in Dark Souls world.

Friendly invaders

These invaders want to help with progressing through level. They are extremely rare, but who knows, maybe you will meet one of them someday. Friendly invader trying to look as much frienldy as it possible, for example by wearing ridiculous armor combination or Catarina set, using friendly gestures and face carvings. You can use seed of tree of giants to make possible for invader killing mobs in your world. He may drop his own seed, but be careful when picking something from the ground, getting cheated item won't be awesome and may lead to softban. Keep eye on these guys too, maybe they are hardcore fans of Trusty Patches?
