Quartz heart. Gives you a temporary heart when you lose a permanent one.

Wierd Claw. Adds another temporary heart to the temporary heart gained from Quartz heart

Ring of Arcane Retribution. Causes damage to nearby enemies when you lose a temporary heart.

As long as you have 2 hearts left and your Quartz heart is off cooldown you shouldn't die too quickly. Secondary item powers are up to you. I don't know how well this scales to endgame as I haven't gotten there yet.

And if you feed the alum heart to the quartz heart you get even more temp heart buffer

I actually feel that this build gets stronger as enemy density increases. Although there isn't a true endgame to play yet, I've been using this exact setup with maxed difficulty modifiers and it holds up quite well. Because there is not a limit to the number of enemies that can be damaged by the explosion from the temporary heart, it is more potent with more enemies. Similar to how Veilrend and Bellringer function. Great thinking!
