Must have mods to fix critical issues
By ozfer
Playing The Sims 2 on modern systems can be tricky since it’s an older game with its fair share of issues. To help with that, this guide provides a curated list of must-have mods for The Sims 2 Legacy, sorted by priority. The focus is on preventing corruption first, followed by fixes for major bugs and other improvements to enhance stability and gameplay.

Introduction
I've spent a few hours playing The Sims 2 Legacy Collection and, for the most part, it runs well. There were some issues, but after some tweaking and installing mods, the experience has greatly improved. I've put together a list of mods that helped me achieve that. Let me know in the comments if you'd like a guide on installing custom content!

Note: I will include the creators credits and original descriptions for the mods.
Critical Fixes
These fixes are mods that work on issues that although may not be common they will corrupt your save badly.

No Corrupted Death Memory[www.moreawesomethanyou.com]

The formation of the corrupted death memory, as seen in gossip of the form
"jagged lines", "tombstone", "dead Sim", is now suppressed.

No Unlinkage On Urnstone Delete[moreawesomethanyou.com]

Game no longer partially destroys sim file on deletion of tombstone.

Select your cemetery[modthesims.info]

This mod changes the original logic for choosing the final resting place for your Sims in case when they all die living in apartment or on residential lot.

Anti-Redundancy[www.moreawesomethanyou.com]

Eliminates spawning of unnecessary redundant NPCs. Should only spawn one per
type, more only if needed because the first is unavailable. All spawned NPCs
should be equally accessible instead of just the first 3.

Job Fixes[moreawesomethanyou.com]

Fixes a whole metric assload of brokenness relating to OFB jobs in TS2Pets,
as well as the preexisting problems in OFBp2. Note, the original link for Job Fixes is broken, the link is for a mod called Harder Jobs, which is list Job Fixes as a requirement and includes a working link to it.

Aging Fixes[modthesims.info]

Download: Aging Townie Aspiration Fix that Fixes issues related to the new function to age a townie in which the game forgets to give them aspirations, and Aging Birthday Party Fix that makes it so that when the game decides to push a currently played sim to age up at 18:00 and later, the game will not immediately push the sim to age up if there is a birthday party going on.

No Sim Loaded[midgethetree.tumblr.com]

Eliminates "Sim Loaded" tokens that can cause lag and also removes unused controllers and tokens. Use Special Version if unsure.

Recommended Mods
This section contains mods that are not critical but I consider them good fixes.

Butler Fix[cyjon.net]

Fixes the "butler won't cook" bug.

Less Late Penalty[cyjon.net]

Being late for work is no longer worse than skipping the day entirely.

Hats Don't Change Clothes[cyjon.net]

Thinking Caps and Noodlesoothers no longer force sims into default clothing.
Work in progress
I put this list together with only the essentials to keep the game running smoothly without being a burden. However, if you're not a Sims 2 or Sims veteran, be aware that the game has always had a lot of bugs—seriously, a lot. There are countless mods to fix these issues, but compiling and installing them all would be a massive task. Still, let me know if you have any more mod suggestions or if you'd like me to keep sharing more!

If you have the patience I would also recommend going on cyjon.net and installing as many of the bug fix mods as you can there. Just do a ctrl+F and search for fix in the mods page.
Good stuff.

well its technically not needed, depends of what kind of player you are. If you plan on playing a lot of time on a single neighborhood these fixes are only to avoid corruption, fix lags and minor issues.

Is this stil all needed for most recent version? it seems this re-reasing have to be fixxed right with this?
