Had tried other methods but hadn't even got close to the sun station!
Top tips for those who are still struggling:
- If you are flying off, you are probably going too fast prograde (In the direction of your movement)
- If you fall to the Sun, you are probably going too slow prograde (or too fast retrograde, in the direction against your movement)
- To maintain a fast orbit above the Sun Station you need to be accelerating towards the Sun Station/Sun (Radial-in)
You can slowly creep closer to the ship from behind or in front and above. Then to "Park" your ship, put it exactly in the center of mass of the Sun Station and 0 your velocity relative to the target. It will likely still move though given how perfect you would have to get it in such an extreme environment.
I managed to explore the Sun Station and even board my ship after 2 minutes just 20 seconds before the Sun Station was swallowed. It did have a peculiar orbit, however, but I know I didn't park it well.
- lined up with the Ash Twins
- flew closer
- about 4500m
- about to go in for the Sun Station
- get hit by the Ash Twins
- die
10/10 would die again
