Adding Sim Store items into the Legacy Collection.
By Quantum_dog
This guide is for installing the content that was on the Sim Store that was taken offline on March 31, 2011 so it's impossible to get these items from there.

Making CC folder to install the content.
To make these work in-game they have to be installed like mods are, you can do this by going here "Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy" you will also need to make a "Downloads" folder where you can put SIm Store content or mods, they can also be in folder so you don't have to dump the PACKAGE files into it.
Download the Sim Store Content
You download everything here[web.archive.org] and extract all the compressed files in the folder like "Spooky Set Objects", it also has other content that was for the Sims 2 that's not in the Legacy Collection which can be installed just like the Sim Store content.

(I saw a comment by adapeach about only seeing one package and when you just open the rar it will only show one package but the one I downloaded which is the first one showed all the other files after extracting rar, the IKEA stuff didn't crash but it could be from installing the SP8 DLC into my Sim's 2 using this https://github.com/hiloyt/the-sims-2-legacy-ikea .)
Adding the Sim Store into the game
Extract the rar with 7zip or WinRar and place the folder into the "Downloads" folder that you made, you can also install the other content on that page the same way or download some mods to play with, run the game and enable the content then restart the game as the items will show up the next time you play.

The content should be installed, Enjoy! :D

Does anyone have any idea how much CC this version can handle? My total is 24 GB, aka 84k files, which ran before the whole Windows 10/11 updates. RIP Win XP, Vista, 7 and 8 - y'all never failed me.

@Dorkydactyl copy/Paste the mediafire links from WAYBACK into another tab or browser address fill-in box and it should work. Just make sure wayback /archive org is not in the address

Am I the only one who can't get the Wayback Machine links to work correctly? I can open the tumblr post, but the links on that page lead to a Mediafire security check that never ends, no matter what I do. Where can I find these downloads everyone else can see??

literally none of my CC works unless .Sims2Pack installed with cleaner installer, not exactly much to do apart from extract to "C:\Users\User\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\Downloads" so i kind of just accept this is a broken release

Can someone upload/share the files via simfileshare for easier access?

@snerck Thank you for letting me know, I add wayback links to the post but to use the download links you have copy it and then remove the stuff before " http://" to go to where you download it.

tumblr post is dead, might want to link an archive.org reupload instead? either way, abysmal that the game doesn't include this stuff with the new release lol
