How to build Sheep Farm

- Open the Construction Menu.
- Navigate to Farming.
- Select Sheep Farm
- Place the farm in a suitable location (close where you think you will have the pasture).

Aim: This building allows you to collect wool, which is later processed into yarn.

How to build Pasture

- Open the Construction Menu.
- Navigate to Farming.
- Select Pasture (free to place, similar to burgage plots).
- Define the size of the pasture by clicking multiple times.
- Place as many pastures as needed.

Aim: Sheep graze in the pasture, and clicking on it will show how many sheep or lambs it can accommodate.

When to Build It

- The Sheep Farm is an advanced building mainly used for:
- Producing wool for the population.
- Trading wool or yarn or lamb profit.
- Meat for butcher's workshop

Where to Build It

- Place the Sheep Farm near a Weaver’s Workshop (covered in another tutorial) to shorten transport distance.
- Ideally, keep the weaver's workshop close to a warehouse for efficient resource collection.

However, balance is key. Have as many sheep as you need avoiding to overproduce wool and clog the warehouse.

Sheep Farm Menu

When clicking on the Sheep Farm, you will see:
- General Menu: You can assign up to three families to work here.
- Livestock Menu: Displays your sheep’s names and their current status.
- Storage: Shows how much wool has been collected (usually efficiently taken by storehouse workers).

Note: You don’t need a pasture immediately since the Sheep Farm itself can hold five animals.

How to Get Sheep

- To buy sheep, you need a Livestock Trading Post:
- Assign at least one worker to the Trading Post.
- Click on Trade.
- Find Sheep and press Import.
- Each sheep has a purchase price.
- Ordered sheep will arrive gradually.
- You can’t profit from reselling sheep, but there’s an alternative!
- Sheep Breeding development point and Selling Lambs
- By unlocking Sheep Breeding in the Development Points menu, your sheep will multiply over time.

- Selling lambs is a decent way to make extra money.

Wool Production Cycle

- Wool is collected only in Spring and Summer. No wool is gathered during Winter. Plan your business accordingly!

Sheep for Fertilization

- Sheep have another function through the Fertilization development upgrade:
- You can enclose wheat fields with fences (cost: 5 planks).
- Sheep grazing in fenced fields increase soil fertility.
- This method can help improve wheat yields.
