Go to Settings Accounts > Email & accounts.

Under "Accounts used by email, calendar, and contacts", click "Add account".

Choose Microsoft Account and sign in using your Xbox/GFWL email.

Also, make sure your account is listed under "Accounts used by other apps.

Restart your PC and try to log in again. It should download your profile and everything should work as intended

Note: it took me like 3 tries for the sign in to work

I was getting error 0x80190001. I managed to fix it by connecting my PC to my cell phone's network, routing it to my PC. For some reason, I'm having trouble logging into my Microsoft account with my home internet connection. I believe using a VPN might also fix this error. You only need to do this to log in the first time. Simply enable the options to remember your email, password, and log in automatically. The next time you open the game with your home internet connection, the login will be successful and automatic. I'm sharing this information because it might be useful to anyone experiencing the same issue.
