• Reisident Evil 2

I chose this part because I started with it myself, cuz friend of mine recommended me it, and it drew me into the Resident Evil universe. While playing, I didn’t experience too much difficulty understanding the plot. Of course, after playing the earlier parts, everything made more sense, and there are many cool details to notice. However, it is still a good entry point that doesn’t spoil the storylines of the previous games.

• Resident Evil 7

This part doesn’t fit as well as Resident Evil 2 or 0 in my opinion. However, similar to 2, it doesn’t spoil too much of the story, and understanding it isn’t too difficult, especially since the plot is just beginning. The only challenge might be grasping what Umbrella is all about, but it’s still a solid choice to start with especially considering it’s one of the more popular games in the Resident Evil series.

• Resident Evil 0 or 1

This is a classic choice, especially considering that the storyline is just beginning, and one game complements the other as is often the case with Resident Evil. The older graphics and mechanics might seem off-putting at first glance, but I still wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s a unique experience to play something older compared to today’s graphically and mechanically advanced games. For fans of newer productions, there’s good news: we’ve had leaks about a potential remake of Resident Evil 0 that would modernize it for today’s standards.

• Resident Evil 0

Date of events: July 23, 1998, around 8:17 PM.
Short Lore: A prequel to the series, showing the Bravo Team of S.T.A.R.S. investigating strange murders, leading to the beginning of the Umbrella Corporation's secrets.

• Resident Evil (Remake)

Date of events: July 24–25, 1998, starting at 9:00 PM.
Short Lore: Start of the story, set in the Spencer Mansion, where members of Alpha Team uncover the nightmare of the T-virus outbreak.

• Resident Evil 3 (Remake)

Date of events: September 28 – October 1, 1998, starting early morning at 1:00 AM (partially overlaps with RE2 so I reccomend to play first hour then Re2 then again Re3 but if youre lazy its best to start with Re2 cuz Re3 spoilers few times Re2).
Short Lore: Jill Valentine struggles to escape Raccoon City while being pursued by the relentless Nemesis.

• Resident Evil 2 (Remake)

Date of events: September 29 – October 1, 1998, beginning at approximately 9:00 PM.
Short Lore: Leon and Claire fight to survive in Raccoon City, which has been completely overrun by the T-virus.

• Resident Evil 4

Date of events: August 28, 2004.
Short Lore: Leon S. Kennedy is sent on a mission to rescue the president’s daughter, leading him to a remote village in Europe controlled by a sinister cult.]

Date of events: 2005.
Short Lore: Follow Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield as they investigate a bioterrorism threat aboard a mysterious ship called the Queen Zenobia.

• Resident Evil 5

Date of events: March 5, 2009.
Short Lore: Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar investigate bioterrorist activity in Africa, uncovering new virus mutations and global conspiracies.

• Resident Evil: Revelations 2

Date of events: 2011.
Short Lore: Claire Redfield and Moira Burton are kidnapped and must survive on a remote island filled with horrific experiments. Meanwhile, Barry Burton searches for his daughter.

• Resident Evil 6

Date of events: June 24 – July 1, 2013.
Short Lore: A global bioterrorism crisis unfolds, making our avengers assemble to stop the spread of a new deadly virus.

• Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Date of events: July 19, 2017, starting around 11:00 PM.
Short Lore: Ethan Winters ventures to a remote plantation in Louisiana to search for his missing wife, only to face a horrifying family infected by a new strain of the virus.

• Resident Evil Village (RE8)

Date of events: February 9, 2021, early morning.
Short Lore: Forced to travel through an abandoned village forces Ethan to face fearsome enemies and discover the truth about its cursed inhabitants.

In my opinion its a little bit weird to play since youre ignoring whole plot this way and spoilering yourself half of it, but whatever I guess
