I want to make subtle variants for Cove, make it look like a sailor. And for Weald by putting some mushrooms on it. I'd still be a patch that requires your mod.
Further tests show that the lacking of command line "-skipvalidation" is the reason why online darkest.exe will crash on loading when launching the game not by using steam library but by directly clicking the darkest.exe, when this mod is enabled.
Thus, if players insist launching the game by directly clicking "_windows\win64\darkest.exe", they must firstly create a shortcut for the exe, then right click this shortcut's property, type "-skipvalidation" on the end of the target section, and use this shortcut to launch the game. By doing so, the crash will not happen.
I have confirmed a savefile-loading crash does exist when playing "bonewheel" by directly clicking the "Darkest.exe" under the path "_windows\win64\", but that crash will NOT happen if launching the game formally from the steam library.
This crash is neither concerned with the exe itself, nor concerned with "bonewheel", as even the official "Darkest.exe" will trigger this crash too, if launched by directly clicked.
I shall keep searching the true reason of this weird crash. As for now, players and modders, please pay attention that the game should always be launched from steam library, but never be launched from directly clicking the "Darkest.exe", to avoid such a crash.
* i fix it by play it on normal launcher (stream launcher)
I got crash bc i used to play in unofficial exe dd , because before we got new 64 bit update (old got 32bit) this file make game become 54 bit.
Here i the link : https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2218956201
You can search it by name “ Mod Limit CTD : Four Types of Overflow”
I don’t know you know this link or not but i try to give you more information.
I still not test your mod in dungeon yet because i start new dungeon but i’ll get you feedback soon. I’m oldie i play with mod for long time.
fromsoftware didn't make this mod. And I said I like it. Just like the port was drawn and adjusted to fit the style of DD1, this could have been another detail to address. Authors probably didn't think of it. It's something I would've brought up in a Beta had I been around.
It's something I could also patch if I wish it so. I'll think about it.
