Andrea Guided Missile Destroyer

"A one of a kind experimental variant of the Damora Class Destroyer, the Andrea was created using a lengthened hull originally intended to be converted into a light carrier. Instead the Andrea was fitted with an array of VLS missile tubes like those seen on Caladon Guided Missile Frigates. The Andrea was intended to be a proof of concept for a new Damora variant that could provide incredible point defense for a friendly fleet. Swapping out all its remaining guns for more PDCs the Andrea carried in total 54 Missile Tubes and 10 Gatling turrets. This armament allowed it to make swift work of any incoming torpedos, missiles, or small craft. The missiles were even somewhat effective against other small to mid sized warships. While an impressive ship the Andrea was also far more expensive than it's standard or even carrier counterparts and due to the missile system's complexity and need for constant replenishment was shelved with the APF choosing to instead bolster point defense across all ships rather than invest in expensive dedicated point defense destroyers."
