[G.L.I] Esther Fighter

After the collapse of the Renation empire and the begining of the regime, the former Renation navy had to go through major doctrine changes. Due to shortage of funds the regime could spare towards their military caused by the effects of a war torn galaxy, cheaper military options were a must. Taken into consideration that the Resurgent forces were defeated, no major military power could oppose the new Regime. This meant that these new fighters would mostly be used as a scare tactic and to combat the rising popularity of large pirate factions. It was this reason alone that made the regime sign a contract with Golden Legion Industries to produce a new line of mass assault ships. The first two craft to be delivered were the Esther and Alkyl ships. Both designs were supposed to be used in conjunction with eachother, filling different yet important roles within the navy starfighter core. Esther was designed to be the swarm fighter whereas Alkyl was designed to be a faster and more powerfull swarm interceptor.

Esther was a crude yet reliable fighter that had just enough of everything. Its speed, although lacking, was decent for a craft of its capabilities. Its manouverability however, was hindered by the small power pack the ship had to work with in order to reduce maintenence and production costs. The weapons on the craft were quite powerfull for a ship of its size and were protected by an armored wing structure. The miniature size of the craft meant that it could be fitted into even the smallest hangar bays and larger ships could carry hundreds of them, further playing into the mass assault tactics that the new regime so desperately wanted.

First batches of these starfighters were delivered with old Renation camo still applied. The new Regime was not at all pleased with this and ordered G.L.I to paint the new models with their camo pattern. This meant that the version we have here was the incredibly rare first delivery batch of the Esther fighter.

This was a very old swarm fighter design i had lying around. I upgraded it a bit and published it as part of my efforts to publish all my unfinished or close to finished builds. Hope you enjoy!
