Overview
This is not meant to be a proper guide, more of an explanation of game mechanics such as power, what buildings to aim for in construction, and hints on making the game-play easier / more productive in general based on my multiple play-throughs.
While I have made suggestions in this guide, and they have worked well for me, they may not be the best for you, if your play strategy differs from mine.
How Power works in the Game
After doing some trial and testing, what I have found regarding power for structures is as follows. There are three main buildings that supply power to the grid.
Bio-Generator
The first building you can construct is the Bio-Generator. This uses bio-mass, or if you have unlocked the upgrade on the Smart Tower, Bright Flowers. Upgrading the Bio-Generator increases the total power storage available, as well as increasing the amount of power that bio-mass or bright flowers produces. In addition upgrading adds an extra wiring slot.

The way Bio-Generators work, is if there is a demand for power on the network, they will always provide power to the network and drain the storage. Thus Bio-Generators cannot be used as a backup battery.
Solar Generators
Solar Generators are a combination of a battery and power supply. The base model start with 60 power storage, and the Smart Tower has a modules to double this power storage. Upgrading the Solar Generator will increase the amount of wire slots.

Solar Generators work by charging their battery during daylight hours in sunny weather (no charging on cloudy or rainy days). They also supply power to the network during sunshine, and in evenings or on cloudy/rainy days, they will supply power to the network from their battery storage. There is a power switch (top left of the popup box) where you can turn off the Solar Generator, which will prevent the storage battery from supplying power to the network.
Accumulators
Accumulators are large storage batteries. If there is power supply to the network, they will grab the supplied power and store it in their battery. Once there is no more power supply to the network, but there is demand for power, they will drain their batteries and supply power to the network. Upgrading will also increase the number of wire slots.

What I normally do for playing is to build a bio-generator initially until I can unlock and build solar generators, and build around 6 to 9 of these. Then I only use the bio-generator for on cloudy/rainy days when the solar generators run out of power. Once I can build accumulators, I build just one at the start, and later increase to three or four. I also increase the number of solar generators to around 12-15. By now the bio-generator can be demolished as it is no longer needed.
Power in other structures:
The resource printer only uses power when it is producing foam panels, metal frames, or memory modules. The amount of power required during operation depends on the product. Foam panels require more power than metal frames, and memory modules even more. I always build two resource printers, and have one building metal frames, and the other foam panels. Max of 10 power per hour during operation.

Other production-type structures are similar, only using power during operation.

The Cryptofarm will use power constantly as it is always farming for more money. I aim to build three of these as soon as possible, and upgrade them also as soon as possible. The upgrade button is slightly hidden in the Electrical panel popup for the Cryptofarm. In addition there is a power switch where you can turn off the Cryptofarm. Upgrading the Cryptofarm will also upgrade the power usage (max of 5 power per hour).

UV Tower and No-Harm Cultivators only use power during night time. Both use 10 power per hour for each unit.
Transporting large items.
There are several places where you can only access via an elevator, which can make transporting items up and down difficult, especially the large items such as wood, sheet metal, and plexi-glass sheets.

For these large items, the player is also restricted to the amount they can carry at once. At the beginning you can only carry 1 or 2 large items at a time, which increases up to 6 at the end of the game. You can grab a bunch of wood (or metal/ plexi-glass), and drop this on the elevator itself, repeat, and then move the elevator up, after which you can grab these bunches of large items again, and take them off the elevator and drop them on the ground.

Late in the game you get access to build a teleporter device, which makes it quick and easy to travel between upper and lower levels.

However, there is a better method of carting these large items around which is accessible very early game. This is to simply construct a storage container for wood / metal / plexi-glass, and use the nano-transporter device to store this storage container in itself, then go down the elevator, place the empty storage container on the ground, fill it, and re-store the filled container in the nano-transporter.

More preferably, construct multiple storage containers on these lower levels, and cart the filled ones up as needed. Also, if you obtain the Storage Meta-Network module in the Smart Tower, you can quickly construct a storage chest on the lower level, and then access the rest of your chests, meaning that you won’t end up with a full inventory and have to go back up/down a lot.
Note on resources.
For most of the game, unless you have completed everything, you will need loads and loads of bio-mass and plastic. As soon as you unlock the Smart Tower, I suggest you use the drone every single day to travel to the beach and the food courts locations (both only cost 1 power unit) if they are open, and grab the free plastic. Similar, grab and store the bio-mass from all the bushes. It is useful to use the nano-transporter to move all the bushes in rows so you can pluck them quickly. The farmers table and the Ion Synthesizer also help with converting items to biomass, and bio mass and similar to plastics.

At the mid-end game, you will be required to dismantle multiple large robots, which give you carbon sheets. At the end game, you will have more than enough carbon sheets just from these robots to build what you need with them, plus multiple storage units of plexi-glass, so best to use the upgraded Ion synthesizer to convert these carbon sheets into plastics, which you need for other things.

You will also end up with more light-bulbs than you need, so no need to create these (you will need to create some early game though).

The other item that you will end up with far too many is the electrolytic solution. The main uses of this is to create batteries (with foam panels), or you can use it to change the weather to sunny if you have the fully upgraded Smart Tower. Regardless, at end game, I have a fully upgraded box full of these to the max.

The rest of the materials you can break down in the Ion Synthesizer, and/or shouldn’t have an issue with. Mid/end game, when your money is increasing a lot from your Cryptofarms, you can buy any required materials rather than manufacture them.
Minions
Minions are not the most useful assistants, as you can manually pick up / build / etc much quicker than they can do. Minions also when created, pick the nearest chest, and use that as a basis for locating items to cart to storage. They will locate the nearest item in a ring around the chest, and go for that item first, then do the next nearest, etc. The best way of dealing with minions, is to assign them to work to a specific chest, and specific storage containers as needed, and scatter the chests across the map, or near the no-harm cultivators to collect the daily white/black ink and tails.

You can move minions down to lower levels, just be aware that unless there is a powered minion charging station, they can run out of juice. You can use the minion filters on chests to choose what materials can be stored in each chest (required module in Smart Tower).
