Using a controller for Synthetik 2
By clock
after playing around with different control schemes for a while on different classes, here is the "most comfortable" setup i could come up with for controller

control setup
so, fire gets bound to right trigger ofc, but what do we bind the rest of the buttons to?

after a lot of testing, here is what i came up with

(in case you cannot view the image)

i use an Aiming sensitivity of 0.3

Shoot/Fire is bound to Right trigger

Ability 1 is bound to Left trigger
this is the ability you will be using most often, you "core" ability - laser sight on recon, for example

Next/Prev weapon is bound to Left and Right bumpers
the order you bind them in is up to personal preference, i use prev wep on LB and next wep on RB

pause is bound the Start button
should be self explanatory

class menu is bound to the Select button
you wont be using this menu very often, so select made the most sense to me - you could try swapping map to select and class menu to L3 if you want.

Dash and Interact are bound to A (bottom face buttom)
it isnt perfect - for example, sometimes when you try to open a shop, you will dash away from it and close the menu, cant really fix that.

Reload is bound to X (left face button)
reloading and active reloads are a core mechanic of synthetik, so make sure you practice this one.

Ability 2 is bound to B (right face button)
this is usually your grenade or "other" ability.

Ability 3 is bound to Y (top face button)
this is usually your heal button, or "utility" ability button. you wont be pressing this very often.

Items 1 through 4 are bound to all 4 D-Pad directions
the order you bind them in does not really matter, just that they are usable.

left stick is move obv, but -
L3 (left stick click) is your map
i also tried having dash on L3, and that worked alright - but i prefer A

Right stick is aiming ofc, but -
R3 (right stick click) is your weapon upgrade menu
extra
unfortunately the game cannot be 100% played with controller, there are some menus that require a mouse - i have had a few cases where i open an upgrade menu, but cannot close out of it, because the "X" button requires me to click on it with a mouse.

the weapon upgrade menu and class/items menu are a little awkward to interact with, but i dont think that is the control schemes fault - the menus just werent really designed with controller in mind, seems like.

controller obv isnt as good for aiming as mouse/keyboard in this game, but if you ever thought the game needed some extra difficulty, or you just prefer controller, PLEASE try this control scheme out.

it is suprisingly fun to play with once you get the muscle memory down, but you have to spend some time learning ofc - i usually play with controller when i am introducing a friend to the game, and i want to "handicap" myself down to noob level.
