This build relies on the Aghanim's Shard upgrade for Astral Imprisonment to save allies (and maybe farm a bit :)

<b> NOTE: BUILD CHANGES BASED ON LANE </b>

If there is no kill threat (from enemies) in lane, go for Arcane Orb at level 1, Essence flux at 2,3 and Astral Imprisonment at level 4.

Switch to <b>Magic Stick + 2 braches (instead of the circlet + 3 branches)</b> as starting item if you are against spell spammers like Phantom Assassin, Bristleback, Zeus, Batrider, Shadow Demon, Lion etc.

Once upgraded, Astral Imprisonment can save allies from ultimates like Chronosphere, Black Hole and Mars Arena (<i>they can walk out of all three</i>).
You can also walk out of Clockwork Cogs, and Disruptor's Kinetic Field or Walls (but not terrain blocking spells like Tusk's Ice Shards or Earthshaker's Fissure).

If there is no kill threat (from enemies) in lane, go for Arcane Orb at level 1, Essence flux at levels 2,3 and Astral Imprisonment at level 4.

The ideal build is Tranquils -> Shard (at min 15) -> Drums/Solar -> other items.

Adjust the item build after you get the shard, as needed in the game.

<b> NOTE: SHARD INTERACTION WITH GLIMPSE AND X MARKS THE SPOT </b>

With Kunkka's X marks the spot, both the normal Astral Imprisonment and the upgraded one will allow your to save allies from being returned back with X.

However, with Disruptor's Glimpse, while the normal Astral Imprisonment does save allies from being returned back, the upgraded Astral will NOT save them from returning back. Keep it in mind while playing against Disruptor.

With drums of endurance (active) and the Bullwhip (active) applied to an ally, they will move at 101% movement speed while in Astral Imprisonment, completely negating the reduction in movement speed.

With the Solar Crest (active) applied in addition to these two actives, your ally will move at 116% movement speed while in Astral Imprisonment.
