Finding RUFUS

WARNING: THIS GUIDE WILL SPOIL THE RUFUS MINI-GAME.

So what's a Rufus? Rufus is the orange cat that belongs to Mr. Orushi (the guy that sets up this B.E.S.T. competition). Once in a while.. a very tiny Rufus will appear on the screen (slightly transparent). Click on the Rufus image to gain an image in the Extra Gallery.

The Rufus image will sometimes appear during/after/way after you see the 'Arrrr' message on the top left corner of the screen. Be careful. There is a bug that will prevent you from getting the image in your gallery even though you picked up the Rufus.

Note: Please note that some of the images below(4 of them) will not have a Rufus in it. That's because I took the screen capture after I clicked on the cat. The screenshot is just there to give you an idea as to where to look for the cat. For Chapter 4, all screenshots will have a Rufus in it.. so there should be very little guesswork in finding that feline. In the future, I'll edit the screenshots to make it easier to find Rufus.

Taxi Drive

When: When you're leaving the airport to get a taxi.
Requirement: None
Screen Dialogue: MC: I'm the last one... They're all gone...
Rufus Location: On the left side where the bushes are.


note: I clicked on Rufus before I took the screenshot, so Rufus is not in the picture. However, this is the scene where you find your first Rufus.
Red is Dead
2.Red is Dead
When: When you don't catch Grace.
Requirement: Don't catch Grace.
Screen dialogue: Grace: Are you saying I'm fat?
Rufus Location: Bottom left corner of the screen.


Note: Again. Rufus isn't in the screenshot. Early in my games.. I didn't think to screen capture the darn cat. Sorry. Just know that when you reach this screenshot.. the cat is here.
Bed is Red
3.Bed is Red
When: When you catch Grace and take her to her bed.
Requirement: You have to catch Grace and take her to her bed.
Screen dialogue: Grace: Thank you, my hero...!
Rufus Location: top left corner of the image. Next to the table leg. (above Grace's right hand)


Note: Again.. I didn't think this through. Just know the cat should be in this screen.
Kitty

When: When Ruby takes you to your room.
Requirement: Choose to wait for her (while she redo her braids).
Screen dialogue: MC: I hope she will explain to me why we are all alone in a bedroom...
Rufus Location: On the shelf. Left of MC (behind). Left of the light blue pencil cup holder.

Dirty
5.Dirty
When: During your first race and you don't help Julia.
Requirement: Don't help Julia during the race.
Screen]dialogue: MC: I must join Madison!
Rufus Location: Right side of the screen. Right above the first log.


note: No Rufus in screen. Cat's there.. I promise!
Yummy
6. Yummy
When: At the swimming pool event. Blue (Sophia) will lead you to a room where Rufus can be found.
Requirement: You must be on Blue's (Sofia) path. Blue is one of the twins in the game.
Screen dialogue: Sophia: No one uses it anymore... sometimes the student council...
Rufus Location: Lower Right of the screen. Second chair from right on the bottom level of desks. Right from the coffee cup there.


Note: Cat's barely visible.. but Rufus is there.
Ice Cream
7. Ice Cream
When: At the Ice Cream Shop. This one is several panels away from when you get the "arrr" alert.
Requirement: None (?)
Screen dialogue: Julia: Charlotte!!!
Rufus Location: Under the pink chairs. Left from Julia and Right from Charlotte. Above the trio of ice creams.

MotorButt
8. MotorButt
When: During the second tournament. During the 'draw the ball' event.
Requirement: None
Screen dialogue: Mr. Orushi: Anyone from your team can go and draw the ball...
Rufus Location: Far left side of the screen. Left of the cups.

Mystery
9. Mystery
When: After the big futbol game.
Requirement: This is arguably the hardest Rufus to get. Follow Red (Elizabeth) and Grace's path (prioritize Elizabeth over Grace if you got both choices) . After the soccer/Futbol game, Grace will ask you to close your eyes. Choose... Don't.
Screen dialogue: None.
Rufus Location: The following scene will be a screen sequence (as it'll only give you a couple of seconds to find Rufus before it jumps to the next panel). Rufus will be in the very first screen of the sequence with Elizabeth watching you and Grace. Rufus can be found at the right of the Elizabeth's right shoulder. Fourth row of seats.

Temple
10. Temple
When: At Kira's Party (the Palazio event). Choose to visit Charlotte/Gabriella.
Requirement: Accept Kira's contact and invitation to go to her party. You'll need to be on Gabriella's path as well.
Screen dialogue: MC: Oh? Gabriella?
Rufus Location: Rufus should be on Charlotte's Left side. Please note at the time of writing this.. there is no 'Arrr' alert. You just have to know it's there.

Bed is Blue
11. Bed is Blue
When: At the twin's house. Blue will invite you for dinner.
Requirement: You need to be on Blue's Path. Don't attempt to romance Red.
Screen dialogue: My sister is downstairs so...
Rufus Location: Left side of Blue. Looks like the cat is standing on that chair in the back.

Shooting
12. Shooting
When: After you leave Madison's House.
Requirement: You must be on Madison's Path. Then you must accept Madison's invite to her home. Then you need to Stand up to Madison's dad when prompt to allow you to get to the romance scene. If you're on Gabriella's Path and you go to visit her, you may be prompt to stay with her over Madison. For the most part, don't worry about it. Madison will be mad, but you'll still go to her house.
Screen dialogue: Madison: For once in your life just shut up and do what you're told.
Rufus Location: Left side of Madison. Easily seen on the glass windshield.

Mother
10. Mother
When: At Madison's House and after you meet Carmen.
Requirement: You must be on Madison's Path. Then you must accept Madison's invite to her home. After meeting Carmen, Rufus will appear several scenes later. If you're on Gabriella's Path and go to visit her, you may be prompt to stay with her over Madison. For the most part, don't worry about it. Madison doesn't take no for an answer.
Screen dialogue: Carmen: Honey, please, his isn't the time to get angry. They're young... (and naive.. and controlled by a perverted player on a keyboard.. sorry.. making up dialogue here)
Rufus Location: Right side of Carmen. Rufus can be seen in the reflective TV screen. I think that's some sort of end table that Rufus is on? I'm not sure.

Peace
14. Peace
When: At the swimming pool after your puzzle event.
Requirement: You have to be on Grace's path. Accept Grace's invite to hang out.
Screen dialogue: Grace: So... Tell me, what's on your mind right now?
Rufus Location: The 'Arrr' will trigger several pages away from the actual scene. Rufus should be on the top middle scene. The cat appears to be standing on a small table ( cat seems to like tables.. and chairs).

Witch
10. Witch
When: As you're leaving the hospital with Julia
Requirement: You'll need to be on Julia's path to get the invite. Accept Julia's invite to the hospital.
Screen dialogue: MC: So, what are you doing with the rest of your afternoon?
Rufus Location: Right side of MC. On the stairs, next to the railing.
