Simply start the game normally, then click a couple times on the bar at the top of the game window, even drag it around a little if it doesn't work the first time. Should make the game properly open the startup movie and then put you into the main menu.

Alternatively, some people have had luck with verifying game files, which can be found under the properties menu and going to installed files when right clicking the game in steam.
