Cat's eye in the dark

Description
Build 42 has changed the way light sources are handled!
It's much, much better than Build 41!

But I felt that the pitch blackness of indoors without a light source was a bit too much for a game where you can't even feel around.

So this mod nominally strengthens the cat's eye trait, making the darkness of indoors a little more visible.
*There is an option that allows you to achieve the same effect even without the cat's eye trait.

You still need a proper light source.
It will never perform like night vision goggles.
In either case, the brightness is completely insufficient, so it's impossible to write books, maps, or do any other work that requires light.
The brightness has been adjusted to a level where fighting zombies is almost hopeless.

2025/6/24
- I was reading a book, so I turned the brightness down.
As a result, the brightness was reduced from 2 levels to 1 level.
Instead, the visible range of "Make it a little brighter" has been expanded.
- The event was changed from OnTick to OnPlayerMove for smoother operation.
If you load a save data indoors with no light source, this mod will not work and it will be completely dark.
It will start if you move your character even a little.

If you have any problems, please let me know in the comments.

clumping sheets into a pile clearly requires light, as does putting a rag into a bottle of whiskey

Thank you for your question!
Of course, it's possible to read and craft in the dark, but it's not realistic.
I think enjoying inconvenience is the essence of this game, so I hope you feel the same.

can you make a mod that removes the need for light in crafting/reading or no

I don't understand this question.
You're asking how to activate it without the trait, but the answer is in parentheses.
What did you ask?

how to use this mod without taking the cat's vision perk? (*There is an option that allows you to achieve the same effect even without the cat's eye trait.)

Your mod is an absolute life saver. You have made a gem of a mod. Couldn't play without it.

Thank you for your comment!
That's right, games should be fun.:steamhappy:
We shouldn't have stress caused by entertainment like games.:steamsad:

Thanks for this one mate. There's a balance between realism and fun, and with no peaceable light sources, squinting IRL at the game was starting to irritate me.

Thank you for your request.
I don't plan on using this mod outdoors in the future.
Personally, there are some great moonlit nights outdoors, and even a new moon isn't pitch black.
If the screen is too dark, you might want to re-examine your gamma settings, etc.
Even after changing these settings, it was still pitch black indoors with no faint light source, so I prepared this mod.
