You might have encountered a closed door while interacting with one of the portals on FloorBranch 2. Most likely, you came across it for the first time following this route: Floor 3 -> FloorBonus -> FloorBranch 1 -> FloorBranch 2. However, you can return to this door later, closer to the end of the game, and open it. Behind it awaits a rather powerful enemy, almost impossible to defeat without proper preparation.

And yes, the enemy is technically located in FloorBranch 2, but to return to this floor when the door can be opened, you'll need to go through Bhool Bhulaiya.

First, you need to follow the route to the true ending; otherwise, you won’t be able to reach "?????". Check out this guide by Altotas for detailed instructions.

Once you reach Floor 18, come back here.

To defeat “?????” you’ll need to be slightly overpowered – specifically, around level 90-99. Since we want to beat the boss fairly, we’ll level up without using cheats.

The game doesn’t offer many locations for XP farming, and the only real options are Floor 18 and Floor 22. Since Floor 22 requires fighting to gain XP, I prefer to stick to Floor 18.

On this floor, you’ll find two Reeeee you can interact with. When you talk to them, they’ll ask you to pet them. Agree, and you’ll get 100 XP for free.

However, since the Reeeee disappear after being petted, you’ll need to respawn them each time. To do this, enter the portal to FloorSchool2 then return to Floor 18. Make sure you don’t kill them, as this will prevent them from respawning.

Voilà! Now repeat this process about 1100 times, which should take around 7 hours.


I recommend automating the process with an AHK script. Here’s a solution I wrote[pastebin.com]. Stand at the portal exit on Floor 18, press Numpad+, and enjoy some popcorn.

Now we’ll farm dust, as you’ll need 12000 of it to unlock the door to the boss.

Head to Floor 27, enter the portal to FloorForest, interact with the correct grave, and you’ll end up in FloorLibrary. Speak to the Ghost Librarian, he will give you a Candelabrum. Speak to him again to enter Bhool Bhulaiya, then exit afterward.

At this point, you should have at least 60 dust. If not, clear Floor 28 and Floor 29. Floor 29 will offer opportunity to return to the FloorLibrary.

Got your 60 dust? Head to the secret merchant. He sells Hi-Potion for 60 dust and buys them back for 75. Let’s take advantage of his poor financial literacy. Remember, you need 12000 dust.


And again, I wrote an AHK script[pastebin.com]. Open the trade menu and press Numpad+. Manually, this process takes less than 10 minutes, but still.

Head to Floor 29 and talk to Chii. You’re ready.

Enter the portal to FloorForest on Floor 29, then go through it to reach FloorLibrary (or use the portal on Floor 30 that takes you directly to the FloorLibrary). Talk to the Ghost Librarian and you’ll enter Bhool Bhulaiya.

In this maze, find the portal to FloorBranch 2. The path involves a hidden wall not marked on the map from Altotas’ guide, so I’ll include the route here.



After entering the portal, you’ll find another one leading to the "?????".



Pay 12000 dust and claim your victory. There’s no strategy required, as the boss won’t be able to deal damage to you.

That’s it for the guide. Here’s what happens after you defeat it:

After your victory, nothing will happen. However, the portal will remain open, allowing you to fight ”?????” again for another 12000 dust.
On your 100th victory, you’ll unlock a secret ending. To achieve it, you’ll need to have at least one happy Mel point and a menthol cigarette in your inventory.
In this ending, you and Mel wake up next to a horse. The horse will ask for a smoke. If you don’t want to upset Mel, you’ll need to agree and give the cigarette to the horse.
No. There is actually nothing. Just the possibility to fight again for another 12,000 dust. (Or I'm missing something)
