Feve Serie 2000

The Feve 2000 and 5000 series, known by their manufacturer, Ferrostaal, are part of the various batches of rolling stock acquired with the 1953 Plan to Aid and Improve Narrow Gauge Railways. 25 railcars and 16 trailers were built by Masschinenfabrik Esslingen, a German company integrated into the Ferrostaal group, with the collaboration of the Spanish Euskalduna. They were destined for the lines controlled by EFE (State-owned Railways), later FEVE, and some of them for the Catalan Railways, where they were known as the 3000 and 4000 series.
