Tae(h)ms

The Taems 890 and Taehms 891 were 4-axle sliding roof wagons used by Deutsche Bundesbahn from the 1960s onward to transport moisture-sensitive and bulky goods. Built between 1971 and 1975, some Taehms 891 wagons were retrofitted in 1973/74 with loading frames for carrying steel coils with a single load capacity of up to 32 tons. Both wagon types featured protective sliding roofs and remained in service until the 2000s, when they were gradually phased out.
