Ran into the games crashing on launch after conquering the launcher itself. Had a similar issue with The Witcher 2. Turns out these games do not like high core count with your cpu. The same solution that works with The Witcher 2 works with Dungeons and Dungeons - The Dark Lord which is to set affinity from the task manager for the program.

1. Launch either Dungeons or Dungeons - The Dark Lord from Steam.
2. From the Launcher, open up the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL > Task Manager)
3. From the Task Manager, find Dungeons or Dungeons - The Dark Lord in the Processes list, right click it, then Go To Details.
4. From the Details list, right click on the Dungeons related program and select Set Affinity.
5. Uncheck all then check 0, 1, 2, and 3 then OK.
6. From the Launcher, Launch the game.
7. Game should launch properly. You should be able to set all the affinity back to normal once in game but i havent tested beyond the 4 cores.

There is also a way to set up a .bat file to auto set the affinity when launching the game but i do not know enough about creating .bat files to give those steps. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2903087523 Here is the link to the solution for The Witcher 2 for anybody more tech saavy to figure out the exact things needed for the .bat.

Hope this works for everyone that is interested in playing the older titles and consider this being a solution for older games in the future. You never know.
