Basic Overview
To improve consistency: play challenge maps (not rng challenges)

To improve performance: play any map (not rng) and DO NOT mindlessly play. Think about why you are doing a line. You can even do this without playing, just imagine your inputs over someone else’s video of a track

Mentality; don’t compare yourself to others.
Racing tips.
SMOKING IS BAD! Your tires, I mean.
If you can’t seem to turn enough and are smoking, try turning a little less until your tires stop smoking. You should turn more now.

Steering extended: the less you steer the less speed you lose.

Airtime and landings: reduce airtime as much as possible, the faster you can land on a downhill, the faster you will be.
You can try this by going a little more diagonal on a jump or even braking sometimes. Reducing airtime is not needed if landing flat is max of 200

Practice a map a lot if you want a better time. If you have GTR mod, look at the top ghosts in free play. You can do this by going to the leaderboards and clicking the eyes on players. You can try copying faster times lines or even improve their lines yourself.

Outer vs Inner:
If you are going way too fast for a corner to turn even without smoking tires, or turning is kinda slow, try riding the outer barrier of the turn! (If there is one)
If you are at a medium speed for the corner, go as close to the inner barrier as possible, but exit a little diagonal so you don’t lose too much speed from turning.
If possible, try riding the inner corner’s road edge (somewhat rng, though very fast)

CBT (Crest Brake Trick): when approaching a downhill with a road barrier, and your speed is too much to smoothly ride the road, go sideways on the barrier and turn into the road for more smooth lines.

Space Tech: doing arms up and then arms down right before a jump will increase downward force.
Cheese Finding
Cheese finding:
you can try and find a more direct route from checkpoint to checkpoint that would cover less distance between those sections.
If a map has no checkpoints, go for the least amount of distance between start and finish.

Wanna get some extra height but your too low? Try crashing by either flipping upside down or hitting a thin ceiling. Your body will fly upwards.
