Basic Starting tips
By Umbral
-Do as many side ops as possible early on because you'll be able to rapidly unlock developments as well as build up your GMP.
-Don't shoot Quiet, literally the best buddy in the game.
-The Sneak Suit is the best outfit, get that.
-Fulton Extract as many tanks as possible.
-The best sniper is the Brennan, it requires a blueprint so do the side ops.
-For the skull missions, use D-Horse with the exception of Metallic Archea in which case use Quiet with the Sinful Butterfly rifle.
-Finishing missions quickly makes getting S rank easier so do that.
-Smoke grenades are very good for dealing with armoured units, grouped together enemies and Total Stealth missions as you can walk towards them whilst they're stunned, CQC them and kill/choke them.
-It always helps to place C4 somewhere obscure so if you're about to get caught, you can detonate it to distract them.
-If enemies find your vehicle, they will destroy it so keep it out of the way.
-If you've encountered a hostile vehicle like a tank or a chopper and you don't have a suitable weapon, use the outpost's turrets.

1) Fair, agreed
2) I prefer D-Dog or D-Walker for their scouting capabilities personally. Quiet does have more autonomy though, which can really come in handy.
3) Personal preference. Sneaking Suit makes you harder to hear and harder to kill but appropriate fatigues make you harder to see.
4) Fair. A Fulton'd tank won't cause unexpected issues.
5) The Serval is similarly good (trades some damage for higher RoF), assuming you don't want a tranq rifle. Tranquilizers have their own benefits, though - namely for S-ranks (no kills no alerts) and expanding Mother Base staff.
6) D-Dog can automatically mark the Skulls, making it harder for them to escape or ambush you.
7) True, yeah.
8) Smoke Grenades are hilarious when used correctly.
9) Agreed
10) This takes some time and is predictable, so you can use it to lure enemies into a more exposed position.
11) You can also abuse their blind spots to stay close. Sometimes, they stop for long enough to Fulton.

DDog is good but Quiet is literal easy mode. You can send her to take outposts entirely by herself and she'll even shoot enemies that find you BEFORE they alert others.

cant agree with the side ops thing, play them after mission 31 so you dont have to do the extreme missions

Quiet is NOT the best companion, D-Dog on top

There is a mod for changing the fov. https://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearsolidvtpp/mods/973.It doesnt effect any of the online stuff too.

There's no way to adjust the fov unfortunately, for better spatial awareness use the sonar in the bionic arm because it'll ping all nearby enemies for a minute and keep them in the corners of the screen so you roughly know where they are.

Obviously it's your game so ofc it's up to you but I'd still recommend wearing it because it allows you to infiltrate A LOT easier, you can sneak up right behind enemies without having to slowly creep forwards. A good alternative however is the battle dress, pretty much the opposite of the sneaking suit, you can tank multiple artillery strikes with that suit.

Do we have to wear the sneak suit I like the looks more than stats so is that okay to do

is there some workaround way to adjust FOV?
