General Tips
A few general tips that apply to all three roles.

1. ALWAYS MOVE
No matter what role you are, never stop moving. If you sit still for more than a second, your asking to be shot in the head.

2. Use the tab menu markers
If you bring up the playerlist with tab, you can mark people as enemy, friendly, missing, ect. Always marked proven people as "trusted" or "friend" and KOSed people as "kill". This will prevent you from not killing a player KOSed early in the round, then forgotten about, and will make sure you are not deceived by a player claiming to be proven. This also works as a T so that you know who your main inno priorities are (provens) and which T buddies to stay away from (KOSed)

3. Pay attention to voice chat and text chat
It is very easy to miss a KOS because it was typed and not said. You can also tell when people die if they cut off mid-sentence and do not respond afterwards.

4. Stay away from large groups, but do not go solo
Staying away from large groups should be pretty obvious, someone can easily throw a turtle grenade, incen or jhad into the middle and kill or damage a large number. However, be wary of staying too far from other players aswell, because a T with a radar will probably try to pick on the isolated players. This works as a T aswell, don't go near a group unless you are bringing explosives, incase another T decides to Jhad with you nearby. Going alone as a T can also be a bad idea, as many people become suspicous of others that they have not seen for a long period of time.

5. Arsenal
Make sure your arsenal fits the map. For example, a shotgun on rooftops is a bad idea, and likewise, a sniper on Mcdonalds is also nearly useless (unless your killion). Pick whatever weapon fits your skills and the map. Personally, unless I am playing on a ranged/open map (rooftops) I try to use a pumpshotgun or M16 primary, deagle secondary and icendiary grenade. This is especially important for Ts!
Innocent Tips
Not much to put here, as this role has no special attributes.

1. Don't follow the D unless you are proven.
Follwing detectives around without being proven is bound to get you shot for acting suspicous if you are playing on a server that lets detectives KOS on suspicoun. Even if you aren't on a server like that, the detetive will likely be to pre-occupied with making sure you don't stick a knife in his back to really be useful.

2. When you are proven, HELP the D
Help the detective out whenever you can after you are proven. Run the tester for them so they can do more important things, be their bodyguard, diffuse bombs, ect.

3. Call out anything suspicous you find
Always ID fallen bodies, announce suspicous actions and say multiple times if you pick up a T weapon. Not doing any of these will likely get you killed by other Innos or Ds for acting suspicous.
Traitor Tips
There is many, many things that you can do that will get you killed as a T. Following these tips can help ensure more succesfull T rounds.

1. Keep the missing list large
The more people "missing", not confirmed dead, but not living either, the less suspicous you will be. For example, if there is a D, a proven inno, an inno and you left alive, and everyone else is confirmed dead, the D will likely force you and the unproven inno into a deathmatch, then kill you if you win. Now, this same scenario with 4 missing people will mean that the detective and innos think there are 6 people that could possibly be traitors, not just 2.

2. Stay away from your T buddies
Whenever you are close to a T buddy, there is always a chance they will Jhad and kill you, get KOSed and force you to kill them or else expose you, or accidentally kill you in a trap. So, stay away from your T-buds.

3. Drop your weapons after killing
And ID'd corpse shows the weapon it was killed with. This makes anyone still holding the weapon more suspicous. If someone asks you to drop your weapon to look at the ammo, and you are missing one bullet in your rifle while standing near a corpse killed with a headshot from a rifle, you will probably be killed. Don't drop your weapons too close to the crime scene, they can carry DNA!

4. Hanging bodies
Hanging bodies may be fun, but never, EVER hang a body unless you are hanging it so that it cannot ever be reached, eg; off the side of the lighthouse in the Minecraft map. Anyone who witnesses you hanging a body will instantly know you are a T, and it serves almost no purpose anyway.

5. USE BARRELS
ALWAYS kill using red explosive barrels when possible. Not only does this not leave a DNA trace, but the resulting explosion can harm many people at once, and possibly throw bodies off the map, which is commonly seen in rooftops.

6. Get proven
Getting proven as a T can be difficult, but when you pull it off, it is very rewarding. Try to find an unID'd T corpse that died from reasons that cannot be DNA'd, such as fall damage, being crushed, exploded or set on fire. You can claim that you killed the T. This provides you with a major edge, especially on maps without testers.

7. Jhad
A few basic rules about Jhad. DON'T jhad if you're the last traitor and can be sure that you will kill all the innocents. Secondly, don't jhad unless you can be sure that you will kill a minimum of 4 people. Otherwise, the Jhad goes to waste. And finally, move around when Jhading. If you are killed before you explode, the bomb will not detonate and nobody will die. The worst possible way to end your T round is to fail a perfect Jhad because you stood still and someone deagle'd you in the face.
Detective Tips
1. Suspicous until proven or KOSed
Like "innocent until proven guilty" IRL, view all non-detective players as suspicous until proven inno or traitorous. Do not go off alone with an unproven player, or put your back to them in a small area. Just because they act friendly it dosen't mean they aren't waiting to stab you.

2. Test!
ALWAYS test people, especially suspicous people. If possible, test one person, then assign them the duty of testing so that you can do other detective-y things, and not worry about being jhaded in the tester.

3. LISTEN!
ALWAYS listen to other players, wether proven or not. Otherwise, you could miss an obvious traitor ambush or accidentally kill a proven player because you found his DNA on the body of an RDMer he killed.

4. Radar: Your new best friend
Since most T's do not bother with the disguiser, radar can almost always tell you how many people are still alive and if any of them are waiting for you around corners or in T rooms with traps.

5. Use Your Power
As a detective, you can usually command other innos to do (reasonable) things. Most servers allow Detectives to force people to test, but you can also ask people to stand still when you have DNA. This makes finding the killer much easier, and most inno's will hapilly oblige if it helps find a T.

6. Hide/Destroy T Bodies
If you can, find a way to get rid of T bodies. Some servers have defibrillators that can revive dead Ts, so either hide the bodies somewhere they won't be found, hide them in plain sight and watch whoever takes them or throw them out of the map. If you kill a T and pick up his flaregun, use it to burn the body.

7. T Weps
If you find a T weapon on a body, it is usually a good idea to give it to another proven player so that you can free your inventory. If there are no proven players, hide the weapon or throw it off the map. If another unproven player has a T weapon, try to get him to give it to you. If he/she refuses, watch them carefully.
The End
I hope this guide helps you become a better TTT player! Thanks for reading!

PS: You may have noticed the "Toxic TTT" picture for this guide. It was a server I was planning to make, but I doubt it will ever actually happen, as I am currently a staff member on Fire Sector Gaming.
Map Specific Tips
(NOT YET FINISHED)

Some map-specific tips I put together.

1. Rooftops or similar maps

Traitor: I wouldn't normally recommened the newton launcher, as it does low damage and is easily visible, but it can be very, very good here for pushing people off. Watch out while using a knife though, as the map is very open and the only safe places to knife kill without being noticed are inside a building or in one of the towers. You might be able to kill people by breaking the boards between the buildings, but don't be suprised if they call you out before they die.

Detective: Binoculars are your friend here. Use them to ID fallen bodies. Keep note of who is in the towers, as they are frequently used for sniping.

General: You know that falling building with the pool? Stay away from it. There is nothing useful there. Also be careful around boards, as they can be broken with crowbars and guns while you are walking on them. If you can, find a sniper or an M16 on this map.

2. Minecraft Lighthouse Map

Traitor: Using the tester to kill people is a good idea, but be wary of just standing around the tester waiting. Someone will ask you to test if you do, and you will look suspicous if you don't. If you find the golden block, throwing it into the ocean or into the lava in the nether is a good way to stop the tester from being used, but make sure noone sees you do it. Try and hide a diamond ore block in the T room or the ocean to stop people from using them for victory.

Detective: Stay out of the nether if possible, the portal can be trapped. Have proven innocents bring bodies through the portal if there is DNA on them. If you want, you can organize people to find the diamond ore blocks and put them in the furnace near the lighthouse for innocent victory without killing all the Ts. However, it is very easy for a traitor to hide a block in the T room if they see what you are doing.

Lol. Ill consider making a new guide then, although it would only be about the blame tactic and killing innocents without any suspicoun on you, since, well, thats the strategy I know best. I haven't played TTT in a while though, I haven't really found a good server since my favourite one went down.

Im not sure what I'd put in an advanced guide. After these basic skills, everyone kind of learns their own strategies. I guess I could make a guide on that, but there are so, so many different ways to play that I wouldn't be able to cover even a quarter of them. For example, I know some people who are best when they are fully agressive as traitors and kill everyone they meet as soon as the game starts, where as I prefer to frame innocents and make them kill eachother and cause confusion before I start to kill.

this is the stuff you learn 30 mins in. can you make a advance guide?
