Instructions

First you have to make sure VSync is disabled. Go to Options > Display > Open video settings...

Turn the VSync option to "Disabled", and apply the settings.

Then open the console using this character on your keyboard: `

Then type:

cl_engineFPS 999999

Then press enter.

This is an example taken from the opening background demo.

See that counter in the bottom right? NOW THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!

Notes

This may cook your GPU/CPU usage, so you might wanna change the value of cl_engineFPS to something more reasonable.
