How to change sliders without animations or movement! +strange arrow key stuff!
By Phantom
This is something I just discovered, and it was so simple that it was somehow extremely well hidden, the end result being that it might be possible that 99% of all people might never know that it was possible if I didn't say something. It's the kind of thing that you might play a game for years and then realize "OH... OH WOW... DUDE!? I CAN DO THAT?!?!! NO WAY................Whoa.......that's cool bro..."

So basically this is one of the first parts of the game because it takes place within the character creator! The way to change sliders without the character doing their animations, which are really awesome, but sometimes you just really need to see the differences between the slider settings without the character moving, especially if you put serious time and effort into character creation like I do in any game I play that offers the possibility of character customization!

This is THE WAY: You first click on the slider, and then you tap LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys. This moves the slider setting (although in a way that is not as precise which is a little bit annoying, but it's not that bad, and helps you compare the difference in the slider settings, so it's really useful) BUT WITHOUT the character doing their animation!

Don't get me wrong, I love the character animations! They're awesome! but this is very helpful for me. I discovered this completely by accident because I just say "hey what if I do this, because sadly there isn't a number box that I can display an exact number that also lets me type an exact number in so that I can choose perfect precision in the slider settings, so wouldn't it be amazing if arrow keys worked for this!?" AND THEN IT DIDN'T WORK!

and I was like

ah.... okay...

BUT THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I clicked the slider first and then the arrow keys DID WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to share this with everyone because I have never seen or heard of anyone else mentioning the fact that this exists and I have been doing lots of reading about this game, and watching videos too! I never saw this mentioned anywhere, and what a pleasant surprise it was!

So have fun and enjoy! (and if you ever figure out any cool helpful tips or secrets, make a guide! Even if you don't think anyone will care, make it anyway, because you NEVER KNOW when you could have helped someone. There might be 100 people that say "nah cmon this is obvious..." but even if ONE PERSON learns something new, well then you just made their game experience better!)

EDIT:

I just discovered some more really weird stuff about the arrow keys and the sliders. DO NOT TRY THIS ON A CHARACTER YOU DON'T WANT TO MESS UP! I just tried it on a test character. Essentially I clicked on any slider setting, and then used left and right arrow keys which resulted in the slider settings moving without the character playing their animation, but then I pressed up and down arrow keys, and then pressed left and right arrow keys again, and realized that the slider setting being changed had somehow moved to different slider settings on a different page, without me switching to that page.... really odd huh? My character then started changing colors because despite not being on that section of the character creator, pressing the up and down arrow keys had somehow selected color settings for the character.... So yea....! Weird huh?

wait no it's m3!! m2 just makes them restart their animations. also you only have to tap m3 a bit, not hold it the whole time

If you click and hold m2 while holdin m1 and movin the slider around this will also prevent the animations!

Wow, thanks! I never would've figured this out on my own, and I'd be dragging my mouse like a scrub for eternity! Something to try: hold shift or ctrl while pressing the arrow keys ... maybe that changes the increment in which the arrows change the setting?
