DSfix[www.nexusmods.com]
Unlike the ReDemastered, this port is fixable, and DSfix does just that. "Description" section contains manual.

Don't forget to set "enableTextureOverride" to "1".
Enabling Multiplayer
Everything in this section was written by vector50cal on Steam Discussions.

1. Download any .NET[dotnet.microsoft.com] framework newer than 4.5 from Microsoft or simply download the .NET 4.8.1[dotnet.microsoft.com] framework. Install the .NET framework you downloaded and restart your PC once the install completes.
2. Download DSCM[github.com] and follow the instructions[github.com] to install it. You can place the DSCM executable in a convenient location on your PC.
3. Create a text file called "steam_appid.txt" in the DATA folder found within the game's main directory. Open the text file you created and write "480" in it (without the " marks). This will fool Steam into thinking that Dark Souls is a game called "Spacewar"; this will enable online functionality for Dark Souls.
4. Launch the game exe directly; do not launch through Steam.
5. If your controller isn't working then exit the game. Find "Spacewar" in your game library then click on Steam's controller support for the game then disable steam input. When you launch the game again, your controller should work.

Eh, it's better than nothing. I might have to give it a try. Just the CHANCE of being invaded or seeing a message is all I need really.

Technically - yes. Practically - no idea how many people actually use this workaround, so you might as well encounter nothing :P

When you say multiplayer, do you mean the full shibang? Covenants, leaving messages, invasions, etc??

Not sure about the multiplayer part though...

Yes, this is fully compatible with all the pre-steam integration versions:100percent:

Does this work with non-steam copies? Like, if someone had an old GFWL PC copy, for example. (Or theoretically a pirate copy but I don't know why someone would want to pirate a game that's impossible to buy legitimately and is better than the replacement--wait)
