General

Choices don't matter until the call on Day 9 - when Grim asks you about your greatest fear.

Save (the menu can be accessed through right-click or Esc) when you see "But, something more serious..."

Spoilered text includes a brief description of the route if you want to know what you're getting into. Spoils the route, obviously.

Ending 6 - Bloom

1. When asked about your greatest fear, choose "I'm scared of missing the little things in life."
2. After talking about cup noodles, choose "When we live together, I'll get the shelves stocked with original noodles. Got it."
3. When the chat room goes red, choose "I won't let you take our future!"
4. At Grim's place, choose "I'd really just like to go home..."

You will know you have this ending if you dream of flowers.

Good Ending - You and Casper both become human and open a flower shop.

Ending 7 - Forget Me Not

1. When asked about your greatest fear, choose "I'm scared of losing the people most important to me"
2. After the chat turns red, choose "...If I do, will you let Casper go?"
3. After Grim says, "I was right to come", choose "I don't want anything bad to happen to you..."
4. After "What's the plan here?", choose "Lock all the doors and stay inside forever?"

You will know you got this ending if have a nightmare.

Bad Ending - Casper dies and you are sent back to the human world with your memories erased.

Ending 8 - Interwoven

1. When asked about your greatest fear, choose "I'm scared of not taking enough risks."
2. After Grim says, "It's time," choose "S.... soul baby time...?"
3. After Grim talks about cup noodles, choose "We could name our soul baby 'Original'."

You will know you have this ending if you dream of connection.

Good Ending - You and Casper create a ""soulbaby"" (not really haha) to protect you from being hunted as a reaper/human couple and end up living together.

Ending 9 - Metamorphosis

1. When asked about your greatest fear, choose "I'm scared of leaving nothing behind to be remembered by."
2. After the chat room goes red, choose "I'll never bow down to your stupid system."
3. After packing, choose "Is there... some kind of safe house? A hideout we could use?"
4. At Grim's place, choose "Pack some bags and hide out somewhere in superhell?"

You will know you got this ending if you dream of fire.

Good Ending - You and Casper join up with another reaper to lead a revolt on reaper society.

If you keep getting Ending 7...

Make sure your game is updated, there was a patch a few hours after launch that made it easier to get endings that aren't Ending 7.

In addition, avoid choosing Ending 7-related choices while choosing choices associated with the route you want to get.

Getting the Wrong Ending Despite Choosing the Correct Choices? (Addendum 2/1/25)

If you are getting the wrong ending despite following the guide, make sure you are NOT choosing any choices that would give you points with other ends. I've double-checked the game as of the date in the header of this part, and the guide is 100% accurate.

Below I'll explain how the points are calculated (spoiler-ed if you would like to keep that a secret):

How Your Ending is Determined

Each choice as shown in the earlier sections of this guide will give varying amounts of points towards each ending. Whichever ending you have the most points for is the one you will get. (Ex. if you have 6 points for Ending 6 and 2 points for Ending 7, you will receive Ending 6). In the case of a tie, you will get Ending 8.

Point Amounts

Ending 6 - Each choice adds 3 points.
Ending 7 - Each choice adds 1 point.
Ending 8 - Each choice adds 3 points, except for "We could name our soul baby 'Original'.", which adds 6 points.
Ending 9 - Each choice adds 3 points.

@peerless cucumber read the comments i made just before you posted :) there are 2 nsfw scenes basically, so if you see 2 through your playthrough, you're all good. make sure you have beyond the bet AND the adult patch installed. remember nsfw content is only on the beyond the bet routes (regardless of which route you choose). check your settings, there might be a beyond the bet/nsfw toggle? if you still dont see nsfw you may want to re-install and/or verify/repair files, beyond that I can't help you

Hey! I hope you still see this, but I bought the DLC, and on Patreon (before the DLC was released), they released a beta, and there was NSFW content for day 8. However, now that I've bought it, there's no NSFW content for day 8. Is there actually no NSFW here? Or do i have the option turned off? Thanks!

minor correction: i think nsfw scenes are on days 8 and 9, its been a little while since i checked. regardless, 1st scene happens after you go to the festival and then come home. 2nd scene happens after you go to grim's place.

@Darling do you have the nsfw patch AND the beyond the bet dlc? you need both to see the nsfw scenes. nsfw scenes are on days 9 and 10 (you can't get them on the non-dlc routes) and the game clearly tells you you're about to see a nsfw scene and you have the option to see it or not.

if you have both installed and you're still not seeing nsfw scenes, are your files in the correct place? on windows (if you have mac/linux i can't help you, but you can right-click the game in your steam library and open local files), by default the files should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\A Date with Death\game. the game folder should have BeyondtheBet.rpa and NSFW.rpa. if they are, or they're missing, try uninstalling and re-installing (your saves should be safe if it's the same computer). if none of that works i'd suggest you get in contact with the developers or post in the discussions for this game.
