This is on a Windows 11 system.

dgVoodoo2 will allow the 3D elements of the games (the characters) to run in high res. The backgrounds, cinematics, and so on are all pre-rendered so we're stuck with what we've got. We will also be capping the framerate in dgVoodoo2 to prevent any animation and dialogue issues.

Once unpacked open the folder "dgVoodoo2_##_#" then "MS>x86>" and copy the 4 DLL files in there to the root of your game directory.

ALSO copy "dgCoodooCpl.exe" & "dgVoodoo.conf" to the root of your game directory so it should look like this.

Now for setting up dgVoodoo2. Run "dgVoodooCpl" from the GAME FOLDER, not the download folder.

First screen will look like this. No need to mess with anything




Under the "DirectX" Tab set your resolution to the highest 4:3 resolution that your monitor supports. For example my native res is 2560x1440 which is 16:9. The comparable 4:3 res is 1920x1440 so that's what I have my game set to as seen in the image below. You can also uncheck the "dgVoodoo Watermark" option as well. If v-sync is toggled you can disable that too. Hit APPLY


Now here's a little trick I haven't seen other guides cover. This game runs too fast on modern systems which breaks things, but you can cap the framerate using dgVoodoo. First right click on the "dgVoodoo" banner and select "Show all sections of the configuration"


Now with your newly acquired super powers go to the new tab immediately after "DirectX" which is "GeneralExt". Towards the middle bottom is the "FPS Limit" option. Change this to 60 and APPLY


Good Job! We're done here now. Press OK to close the application.

Now, the game still may not work correctly yet (may launch 800x600 in the left hand corner of your screen) so...the game wants DirectPlay. Well, let's provide that.

Go the start menu, type "Turn Windows Features on or off" and run it.


Once open scroll to "Legacy Components" and hit the expand button
Enable "Direct Play"


BAM. No more annoying popup and the game should launch correctly. Assuming all went well you should be able to enjoy the game as best as possible on modern systems. Leave a comment if you get hung up on something.
