"Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression. It happens during certain seasons of the year, (there are 2 types Fall-onset and Spring-onset) with most cases being in fall or winter. It is thought that shorter days and less daylight may set off a chemical change in the brain leading to symptoms of depression, lack of energy, decreased ability to focus, oversleeping, Physical problems, such as headaches, social withdrawal and increased sensitivity to rejection.
