Victory's Arsenal. A Guide to Enlisted created by Johnny J Johnson.
By Johnny J Johnson
Enlisted is a truly unique take on the much saturated WW2 themed shooter. It combines standard FPS features with limited RTS mechanics in the form of AI squadmates. Many players join this game thinking that it is a hardcore shooter like Hell Let Loose or Squad 44 or a goofy arcade type shooter like Call of Duty. In truth, neither of these labels are fitting.

I created this guide out of my frustration with the quality of present steam guides and general forum census on how to best play the game.

In here will be a detailed analysis over the specifics of what classes, firearms and vehicles are best suited for each theater of war.

Beginnings.
Enlisted Basics:

Enlisted is most famous for its AI squadmate mechanics. With each spawn, you have somewhere b/w 5-9 AI soldiers or (3-5 if you don't have the squad upgrades maxed out).

They will follow you and if you use the "X" key, you can direct them to complete objectives such as running towards a control point or planting a bomb depending on the gamemode. They can also be used like sentries where you press "X" at a nearby area you are standing and they will stay there and defend it so long as you wish.

If you want to swap to another soldier, simply press the "Y" key to load the squad roster wheel and use your mouse to locate the soldier you want.

Soldier squads have differing specialists that can be used to help complete tasks that you otherwise cannot do such as calling artillery barrages or using rocket launchers to destroy enemy armor.

You should never be scared to push the objective with this knowledge, if you are downed or killed, you can simply switch over to the body of a live squadmate to help you continue your advance.

You can press ALT to request medical aid from your soldiers should they be carrying bandages or ALT + E to access the quick chat to request your teammates to provide pings on the location of enemy infantry, emplacements and vehicles.

If you press "V", you can place down a mark. It is visible to all players on your team and they can be used to track the movement of infantry. If you place a mark on a stationary emplacement like a Machine Gun Turret or a ground vehicle like a Tank, it will temporarily reveal their location even if they drive away for cover.

Classes.
Enlisted has many Classes. Some are useful, others are better off ignoring.

There are 7 classes that you should be acquainted with Assaulter, AT Gunner, Engineer, Machine Gun Operator, Radioman, Rifleman and Tanker.

Assaulters are one of the most vital classes of this game. They have naturally high stamina due to carrying lightweight primary weapons like SMGs and Assault Rifles. These weapons in turn allow you to tear through entire groups of enemies with utmost efficiency due to their high rates of fire and decent magazine capacity.

AT Gunners are a popular squad specialist. They carry Anti Tank Rifles and Rocket Launchers that can be used to destroy tanks at long range. Due to their heavier load, they have rather poor stamina so it is recommended that you equip a flask for replenish your stamina meter. At higher levels, they can also carry rifle mounted grenade launchers, these weapons can be used to destroy tanks and troop transports should they be fired at a tank's weak points (50mm or less). They can be also be used to kill enemy infantry although the explosive radius is weaker than the anti infantry variant.

Engineers are also another vital squad specialist (Although you shouldn't use them on Assaulter squads due to size limitations) They can craft rally points that allow your teammates and you to have a spawn that is closer to the objective. You can also build sandbags and barbed wire if you feel the need to barricade something. If they are attached to a MG operator or AT gunner squad, they can build 50 caliber HMG turrets and Anti Tank cannons respectively. (Provided you have the necessary upgrades)

The MG operator is the infantry class with the most firepower besides the Assaulter, you can equip a variety of magazine or belt fed guns with high rates of fire that can tear through enemy crowds in an instance. It should be noted that MGs reduce the running speed of the player if they are equipped and also drain stamina so a flask is highly recommended. You should run with your knife then swap to your MG if you see enemies nearby

Radiomen can call in explosive artillery barrages that can devastate enemy formations. They can't equip backpacks like Ammo Pouches or Medkit packs but you can run two primaries without issue. Artillery has a 3 minute cooldown but it is very useful to poking out any heavily entrenched defenders or stop a large offensive push.

Rifleman are your standard vanilla type class. They can use bolt action rifles, self loading rifles and automatic rifles. They come standard with the unlocking of each squad but typically they are only a temporary addition before you can get the proper specialists for your squad build.

The Tanker is the class that operates vehicles like guntrucks, armored cars and tanks. They are the cornerstone of fire support. If the enemy is dug in, you can blast them out with HE frag or if you see enemy emplacements or armor, you can swap it for Armor Piercing type shells to detonate them.

The rest of the classes require a high skill ceiling and are mostly useless sidegrades.

Weapons and BR levels.
There are 5 levels of weapon and vehicle rankings.

BR1 is Anti Tank Rifles, Bolt Action Rifles, low capacity SMGs, early war planes and light tanks/armored cars.

BR2 is medium capacity SMGs, early war medium tanks, magazine fed MGs, rocket launchers with 80-100 mm of armor pen, bolt action rifles with higher rates of fire or clip capacity and self loading rifles with low capacities and damage. Along with more planes.

Most Low BR players choose exclusively Rank 2 due to the weapon and vehicle diversity.

BR3 is the jack of all trades tier. They can fight any rating from 1-5 (Although there is a soft lock that prioritizes finding BR2 and BR4 matches)

They feature medium capacity SMGs with high fire rates, higher capacity MGs, Mid war Medium Tanks like the Sherman 75, Panzer IV Long Barrel and T-34-76, high damage self loading rifles with low capacities, Rocket Launchers with armor pen that exceed 100 mm and Rifle Mounted Grenade Launchers.

BR4 features late war medium tanks like the Sherman 76, T-34-85 and Panther. Large capacity SMGs with high rates of fire, belt fed MGs, the rocket launchers with the highest possible armor pen and a few odd self loading rifles.

BR5 is the apex of all rankings and features the most powerful weapons and vehicles such as late war behemoths like the M26 Pershing/Super Pershing, German Tiger I and II, and the Soviet IS series. Along with are fully automatic battle rifles like the FG-42, AVT-40 and T20 Auto Garand and ARs like the STG-44 and M2 Carbine. The best flying planes with the heaviest payloads are also featured here such as the BF-109 K-4, P-47, and FW-190 D-12.

Most high BR players choose exclusively Rank 5 due to the weapon and vehicle diversity.

Rankings are dependent on the highest rating of whatever equipment/vehicle. This means if you accidentally add a BR 4 or 5 weapon onto one guy, you will find yourself in an unsuitable game so choose wisely.

Perks and Stuff.
Each class has perks that allow you to choose differing abilities to best aid in your success.

Infantry classes should always invest in these selected perks, 75% faster medkit usage speed, 35% increased vitality which increases your health to 13.5 instead of the regular 10, 40% reduced vertical recoil and reduced shot spread when turning.

Other useful perks include faster ADS speed and weapon switch speed if you have enough points.

When you are making a perk build, it should be noted that if you need 6 points worth of tier 1 perks. I recommend you spend them on mobility points since 75% faster medkit usage speed, a tier 2 mobility perk only costs 9 points to max out meaning you don't waste points for your vitality and weapon handling branches.

Tankers should invest in faster extinguishing of vehicle and faster repair speed respectively.

The higher the tier of your class which is displayed in roman numerals from I to IV, the more perk points you will have per branch (Mobility, Vitality and Weapon Handling)

Note: Engineers also have unique perks that allow them to build emplacements faster and carry more construction resources. You should balance this out with the infantry perks previously listed.

Reduced vertical recoil doesn't matter much for most infantry because rifles and smgs have easily controllable recoil, but it matters a lot for machinegunners due to how hard it is to control their recoil at any range (the recoil is so bad with early machine guns you can miss 90% of your shots at 20m)
