Introduction
Tips:
  • Use Left and Right to cycle through patients on a a scene. Use space to select and C to unselect and go back. Use A and D to move between views
  • During a scene, patients on all views are ticking down at once, so it's smart to start off by looking at all patients to see who to prioritize
  • Completing a treatment increases the health of the patient. Patients with multiple (up to 3) treatments have more of an opportunity to increase their health while having their health decay faster as all three treatments wear on them, whereas as a one treatment patient will decay slower but have less opportunity to correct
  • Treatment minigames can be failed by either repeated mistakes or running out of time. Most games have more difficult variations. For example, the Nose Bleed minigame has variations where it moves faster and you have fewer chances
  • Different treatments decrease/increase health at different rates. Most of the deadlier conditons (Not Breathing, Cardiac Arrest) will have correspondingly severe treatments (Defib, Chest Compressions, Obstructed Airway)
  • Sequence treatments have varying steps, but always tell you the amount of steps necessary. They have name that typically hints at the minigames you'll do (Dehydration is the IV, Cardiac Arrest is Defib/Stretcher, and so on). Technically, to complete one, you just have to pass the final treatment game of the sequence, so you can theoretically deliberatly fail the early ones and still pass. Frankly, that's what I did whenever I got the Obstructed Airway sequence (the very difficult Open Jaw followed by the easy Removed Object)
  • The ranking system is relatively lenient. As a rule of thumb, if you want a good score, stabilize all patients, don't use shields, pass all treatment minigames, and do it quickly. Certain scenes want a B or higher, which can be obtained simply with no lost patients and no shields, as stabilizing all patients implies you did it quickly and with few failed minigames. Worst case scenario, simply close out the game and try again. A nuance to note is that struggling with treatments will eat up time, so its possible to pass all treatments and only get an A, as you ate up fumbling
  • If you want all achievements, you need to do two runs, as the five for succeeding the Eight Emergency Performance Review are mutually exclusive with Consolation Prize, the one you get for failing it. Thankfully, the early Emergencies are fairly short

Bug Report:
  • Two of the achievements, Team Spirit and Happy Reunion should trigger for the Eleventh Emergency, but are currently bugged and are awaiting a patch
  • I've had a reoccurring issue with certain treatments (Tourniquet, Chemical Burn, Strap Stretcher, Flush Eye, Smelling Salts) where they don't recognize keyboard commands until you click the mouse
  • More severely, I've never once had the Smelling Salts game work. I'm either doing it wrong or its bugged?
Treatment Minigames
Remove Glass/Splinters: Using the arrow keys, move the pincers to the glass. Press and hold space, then pull up. While holding space, move the pincers over the tray and release to drop the glass

Leg/Arm Fracture: Move a splint to one side of the limp and then the other

Clean wounds/clean windows/clean ambulances/put soothing gel on wounds/ice bruises: Move the sponge with the arrows and hold space to scrub. Go back and forth over a mess to clean it

Bandage Leg/Arm: Alternately press A and D to wrap a wound. You need to hit a sweet spot between too fast and too slow

Medicate: Line up the syringe with the target and press space

Connect IV: Line up the IV syringe with the bottle, then hit space

Straighten IV Line: Move hand to tube, hold with space, then go up and down to straighten out

Insert IV: Like medicate, line up and insert

Blood Pressure Cuff: Press space to raise reading, but don’t overshoot the target zone, so you have to let it sit if you’re going high

Restock Ambulance: Pick up and hold space, and take the equipment to its silhouette

Check Breathing/Check Pulse: Hit space when the white circle appears. 3 repetitions

Assist Breathing: Press and hold space, then let go when empty. 3 repetitions

Flush Eyes. Hold one button to open the eye, then use a second to flush. There are two different button combinations, as this one can be mirrored. I’ve had a recurring problem where I had to click before the game would recognize my commands

Defibrillator/Chest Compression/Heimlich Manuver: Press Q and P at once when the indicator enters the blue circle

Seal: Using WASD for the left hand and arrows for the right, line up and angle the seal over the cut. The patient will move their limb, so you need to be quick

Kick Down Door/Ax Door/Break Glass: Build up an attack by holding space and aim for the white bar to quickly break through the obstacle. Glass is lighter than the other two. No penalty for failure other than wasted time

Open Jaw/Force Open Doors/Situp/Pullup: Hit two buttons at the same time on the rhythm marker. The combinations are Q/P, A/left, D/right and E/O. This one is very difficult

Blocked Airway: Take the forceps down and remove the object without hitting the sides

Broken Nose: Like Warioware, press space when your hand crosses the nose, then hold

Gauze Nose: Move gauze to nose and press space

Smelling Salts: Wave the salts beneath their nose. For some reason, this one only works with mouse controls. I frankly have never once had this one work

Lift Stretcher: Mash S

Keep Pressure on Wound: Mash the shown button, one of the WASD keys, several times

Stretcher Straps: Move to straps and cross over, three times. This one, for some reason, keeps not responding to keyboard commands until I use the mouse

Tourniquet: Use A/D to tighten and J/L to loosen. Reach the blue indicator and hold. I've had an issue where this one doesn't respond until I click with the mouse

Chemical Burns: Use space to pour the bottle and wash the burns like you would the scrub game. For whatever reason, this one has a tendency to not recognize space until you use the mouse

Impaled Item: Use S and W to close and open scissors to cut away a sleeve.

Place Pads: Use space to place pads to the left and right, but not on, the rebar

Pick Lock: Find the correct position for the left and right hand, then hold

Squats/Pushups:DSAW to the rhythm. Two sets.

    • Questions 1:
      1. To see Different Areas of a scene
      2. Whether the patient is critical or not
    • Physical: Squats and sit ups, one set each. Sit up is harder, so try to get a good take on that before you do squats. Aim to do them in one try each for the achievement

      1. To dislodge an object from the patient’s airway
      2. Connect IV tube, pinch tube, disinfect, insert needle

  • Hydrozoa Industries 2nd Floor: This isn't Your Fault, Mai. Six patients across two views, half behind the door

  • SuperSquid Subway Station: Five patients across two screens, 3 behind a subway door
  • Fuzzy Friends Animal Shelter: Four patients across two screens

Thirteenth Emergency

  • Coral High School: Six patients across 3 views, two behind a locked door. Prioritize the chest compression patient behind the locked door
  • Mahjong Parlor: Three patients
  • Victoria Park: Three patients, across two scenes
  • Lan Tau Island: Two waves, 4 then 5
  • Family Restaurant: Six patients across two screens
  • Apartment Complex Floor One: Four patients across three screens, two behind a door
  • Apartment Complex Floor Two: Five patients across three screens, two behind a door and two behind a lock. The two behind the door should be prioritized
  • Night Club: Not Too Shabby achievement. Four patients across two screens, two behind a door
  • Rescue Squad HQ: Clean and restock ambulances

Fourteenth Emergency

  • City Hall Medal Ceremony: Four patients across two scenes. Prioritize the compression patient on the right screen. Make a Good Impression achievement
  • SuperSquid Subway Station: Six patients across two views, three behind a subway door
  • Business District: 7 patients across three views
  • Flower Market: 4 patients, one view
  • Dim Sum Restaurant: Six patients across three views, three behind a locked door. Prioritize the patients behind the door
  • Central Hospital: Cutscene
  • Fire Department HQ Main Hall: Three patients. The start of the Up in Flames Achievement
  • Fire Department HQ Garage: Six patients across two screens
  • Fire Department HQ Stairwell: Six patients across three views, the second and third behind doors. Three patients are behind the third door. If you’re going for the achievement, this is the problem section. My advice is to kick down the door, treat the two patients in the middle room (blocked airway patient will become critical and the smelling salt/chemical burn patients has unreliable treatments), axe down the other door, then balance the four remaining patients. The end of the Up in Flames achievement

Final Emergency

  • Flashback Apartments: 3 patients
  • Flashback Apartment 2: 2 patients. Since this is the flashback of Betty Woo’s parents dying, this level is rigged to fail. I managed to stabilize one, but the other will fail
  • Ambulances: Restock and clean the two ambulances
  • City Hall Lobby: Two patients. The first of 10 scenes for the City Hall Savior achievement
  • City Hall First Floor: Six patients across three views. Prioritize the defibrillator patient on the first view, then ax down the door for the defibrillator patient there. Follow up with the other patient behind the door, then handle the remaining three patients
  • City Hall Second Floor West: Seven patients across four screens. Start off by doing 2 treatments of the three treatment patients on the start and left screen and stabilize the assisted breathing patient on the other screen. Pick the lock and stabilize both blocker airway patients, then axe the door and handle those two patients. Stabilize the remaining two
  • City Hall Second Floor East: Six patients across two screens. Do one treatment on each of the first two patients, then head to the right and take care of both Heimlich patients. Axe the door and take care of the two patients back there, prioritizing the defilibrator patient. Take care of the remaining
  • City Hall Third Floor: Five patients across two scenes. Do a couple treatments on the main and a couple on the three treatment on the left, then head to the right screen and prioritize the obstructed airway patient. Stabilize the remainder
  • City Hall Press Gallery: Two waves, five then six. For the first wave, treat the first two patients then break the window for the remaining three. For the second wave, you’ll likely start on the second screen, so do a couple treatments on those three patients, then rush to the first screen and prioritize the obstructed airway patient that’s likely going critical. Clear up the remainder of the patients.
  • City Hall Terrace: Four patients. Prioritize the three treatment patient
  • City Hall Forth Floor: This is the Press Gallery and Terrace combined. 7 patients across three screens
  • City Hall Council Chambers 1: Four patients
  • City Hall Council Chambers 2: Two patients. The final City Hall scene
  • Central Hospital: Cutscene
  • Rescue Squad HQ: Cutscene
  • Gilmour Noodles: Ending cutscene and credits

Achievements
I've put the achievements in order of opportunity to get. Most of them are achieved simply through playing through the game and cannot be missed, but the B rating achievements need to be done at the time of the corresponding level. Additionally, the five achievements for passing the performance review are mutually exclusive with the one for failing it, Consolation prize. The two Hydro Haven achievements are currently bugged and are awaiting a patch

Nailed it!: Treat all patients in one scene. In other words, stabilize all patients in any scene. In practice, you'll get this for the tutorial

Better Luck Next Time, Rookie: Fail a scene. Lose too many patients in any scene and be forced to retry. Will either happen naturally or deliberately

Back to Life: Stabilize a patient with low health. In practice, you’ll likely get this without trying. I got it during the tutorial

First Day on the Job: Complete the First Emergency

Squeaky Clean: Complete the tank cleaning at the start of the Second Emergency

Multi-Treatment Master: Complete a multi-treatment chain successfully. This will happen in normal gameplay and is first available in the Fuzzy Friends Pet Shelter on the Second Emergency

Feline Finder: Complete the Night Market in the Second Emergency

Just Like New: Complete the ambulance level at the start of the Third Emergency

Heeere’s Johhny!: Break down a door with a fire ax. Will happen during the Boardroom fire during the Third Emergenecy

Can’t Touch This: Snap back at Betty Woo after the boardroom fire scene in the Third Emergency. Choose "Don’t Talk About the Captain Like That"

Primary Care Paramedic: Complete the Third Emergency

Good With Words: Impress the public with good speech choices in the Forth and Fifth Emergencies. The choices are:
  • Burger Restaurant: Please, Let Us Assist
  • Banquet Hall: Please, Think of Your Children
  • Dog Park: We're Here Now
  • Neo Harbor Mall: At the start, Do Both at Once. When comforting the teenager afterwards, say I Understand, Miss for the achievement

Epic Multitasker: Get an A on a scene with three views. Your first chance will be the Forth Emergency Dog Park (which didn’t trigger for me even though I had an S) or the Neo Harbor Mall in Fifth Emergency

Man on Fire: Get a B or higher on the ST1 Race track at the end of the Sixth Emergency. My tip would be to prortize the crash victim on the right screen and the cardiac arrest patient behind the glass on the left

Level II Paramedic: Complete Act 1, or the first six Emergencies.

Living Dangerously: Complete a scene without shields, after shields become a gameplay mechanic in the Seventh Emergency. Frankly, after spending half the game without shields, it won't be hard to go a scene without.

Delinquents in Distress: Get a B at the high school in the Seventh Emergency. Two waves for a total of five patients, so this isn't bad

Maximum Performance: Pass the performance review at the start of the Eighth Emergency. Do well across the two question and fitness portions, gaining the next four achievements

Smarter Than You Look: Answer all questions correctly on the first knowledge aptitude test in the Eighth Emergency. The answers are "To see different areas of a scene" and then "Whether the patient is critical or not"

Swole Patrol: Get a B on the first fitness test. One round of squats and sit ups. The first minigame of doing WASD is easy, but the other is a reskin of the difficult Jaw Open game. I would recommend restarting until you get a good one and done on the Jaw Open, then completing the other.

Um Actually: Get all questions right on the second aptitude knowledge test. The answers are "To dislodge an object from the patient’s airway" and "Connect IV tube, pinch tube, disinfect, insert needle"

Beefcake: Get a B on the second fitness test. Identical to the first fitness test, just reskinned

Industrial Sabotage: Get a B average across the three scenes at Hrydoza industries in the 8th emergency. More detailed instructions in the scenes section. The first is an easy S, but the other two are going to require more prioritization.

Consolation Prize: Fail the performance review and scrub Finn’s tank. Do poorly on the performance review by failing the questions and getting a failing grade on the physical, and you'll have to clear Finn's tank after Hydrozoa Industries in the Eighth Emergency. Mutually exclusive with the achievements for passing the performance review

When it Rains, it Pours: Complete the Tenth emergency

Team Spirit: Save all mascots at Hydro Haven. Theoretically should trigger after the Hydro blaster in the Eleventh Emergency. Currently glitched, waiting for a patch

Happy Reunion: Save the animal trainer at Hydro Haven. Theoretically should trigger after the Dolphin Pen in Eleventh Emergency. Currently glitched

A Dark and Stormy Night: Complete Hydro Haven, the end of the Eleventh Emergency

Level II Paramedic (repeat, probably will be patched): The description say Act I, but this is the Act II achievement. Will unlock at the end of the Eleventh Emergency, same as A Dark and Stormy Night

Not too Shabby, Eh?: Impress Naomi at the nightclub in the Thirteenth emergency. Simply complete the Night Club scene in that chapter

Make a Good Impression: Complete the Medal Ceremony scene at the start of the Fourteenth Emergency

Up in Flames: Get a B average across the three fire department scenes in the Fourteenth Emergency. The first scene is easy, but the other two will need quick thinking. Check the scene section for more tips.

City Hall Savior: Get an average of B at City Hall. This is an aggregate of the ten City Hall scenes in Final Emergency, from Lobby to Council Chamber 2. Four of them are one view and are basically guaranteed S’s. I have instructions for the others in the scene section

Harbor Heroes: Complete the third act, or the end of the Final Emergency, Gilmour Noodles
