In Hylics and some other games you always can try Alt+Enter combination.
It works on my pc, and it's really clear.

If first combination not work

I find a new way for full screen. You can try F1 and set full screen game in special menu. When you already set options you need close your game and start againg. Enjoy.

Hey thanks, Alt+Enter even works for me on Linux(XFCE fwiw, I don't like Gnome)

If neither of these work, and you have rpg maker vx ace (you can do the free 1 week trial), just open the projet (in the game files "game.rvproj2") press F11, go down until you see Main, right click on main -> Insert, at the bottom left set the name in the white space, call it wathever you want, in the big space at right paste the code you find here: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/fullscreen.14081/

To apply full screen press F5

if neither of these work i don`t know honestly what you should do but maybe you can find another way or program for that, I showed the methods that helped me specifically

can I make it in a window but make it bigger somehow?
