How to "prevent" Aliens from taking Control Points (CP)
By Klonter77 von Planet77
You play a faction in Terra Invicta that is not the Servants? Then, like everyone else, you have the problem that your control points seem to switch to the Servants without any reason and you lose your nation. You freak out, tear your computer apart out of frustration and just don't feel like doing it anymore. Isn't that right, my friend?

The reason are these MOTHAF4CKING aliens, DAMN I HATE THESE FORESKIN HEADS! They work closely together with the Servants and steal your control points from your meganation like Great Russia, European Union, Great America or the Pan-Asian Union. Once gone, it is extremely difficult to get them back.

The control points can NOT be protected from the aliens with the mission “Defend Interest”. They bypass any protection of your nation, only the persuasion value of the aliens and your researched technologies influence the success rate of their capturing missions.

But all is not lost!
There are a few little tricks to counter this problem, and more importantly, to get your control points back when they are gone. This can even be done in the middle of the game and you don't have to start from scratch.
You won't be able to prevent this sh!t completely, but you should know how to deal with it without quitting the game straight away.

1. Technologies
1. Research ALL technologies to make the aliens' capturing missions more difficult. The more technologies you have researched, the harder it will be for the AI to take your control points. However, this process can take a while and may take decades.
2. Good councilers
Always have at least one council member with 25 Investigation and one council member with 25 Espionage. If you lose a control point, you can use both to fight the control point and then clean it up.

2.2
Develop more council members with 25 espionage in the course of the game.

You can find out why in point 10
3. No Mega-Nations!
Try to break up large states, especially China, using technologies like "The End of China" so that the economic power is divided into smaller countries. Not only helpful for expanding mission control, but also making it much easier for you and your council members to take back and hold the states against the aliens.

Remember that the size of the states does not offer protection against the aliens, only against enemy council members!

As soon as you have researched the technologies against the aliens (see point 1), you can get to work on the meganations and slowly develop the Eu or the PAC, for example. take your time and don't rush things, always keep an eye on the servant council members to spot critical points of the aliens.
5. The Holy Democracy but Unity is all
Expand your country's democracy. If your country has a 5-digit GDP (like the USA or China), at least 70% social support for your faction and your control points are protected by the "Defend Interests" mission, you do not need a dictatorship to get the "bonus" of censorship so that enemy council members can no longer fight your control points, because they can no longer do that anyway. Once your control point is lost, censorship will only stay in your way and your council members will have a very hard time retaking the control point.

All countries in Europe and the USA have a high democracy value and high GDP from the start. You should use this and concentrate primarily on these countries, especially the USA with its military.

5.1.
To achieve this, you should not only put at least 30% into "Knowledge", but also always invest a little in "Unity". Make sure that at least 7% is invested in "Unity". The less GDP your country has, the more you should invest in unity, but don't go too high or your democracy will sink. Unity generates support for your faction in the state, your council members don't have to do propaganda in your country and can use their resources elsewhere where they are needed more.

This is my favorite setting and i am going well with it.

If you stuff everything into knowledge for democracy and invest 100% in knowledge, you neglect everything else in your country and sooner or later it will perish or go to your enemies. with my attitudes it will take longer to develop democracy, but the country will be very stable and can be expanded on a secure basis.

Remember that you have to retake the control points in critical states like the USA or China as quickly as possible, otherwise you risk a world war or even worse. The aliens use the superstate as a base for their own armies. From then on, only the massive use of nuclear weapons will help.
6. PURGE THESE BASTARDS
Hunt these damned bastards! CAPTURE THEM OR EXTERMINATE THEM!

Place laboratories for xenology in Earth orbit and give the council members points in science from time to time (through skills or through companies) so that the aliens are more likely to be discovered when they carry out an action somewhere.

As soon as you have discovered an alien, stick with it and kill them with 25 espionage ASAP!

Make sure that the alien threat level stays low, otherwise the aliens will freak out and wreak havoc throughout the entire solar system and... this rage is A$$

5.1
You urgently need a double agent from the Servants. Convince an agent of these alien suckers and keep an overview of their entire council. Don't just kill everyone as you please, the other factions may already be doing that anyway. Only kill the agent who has "defend interests" as a mission. Believe me, the stolen points are much easier to take if they are not protected by the Servants.

Try to convince an agent of them who does not have the "defend interests" mission and generally has low values. If that is the case, then try to keep that agent.

If the agent is no longer loyal to you, the new ruler of the galaxy, find him and convince him again.

By the way, it doesn't hurt to lock up the other Servants agents, even if they don't fulfill a critical function for them ;)
7. Xenofauna stinks
Try to destroy the Xenofauna from the states that are under your control or will soon be under your control. The Xenofauna increases the chance of success of the aliens' missions. Alien buildings come into play relatively late, but if they do come:
Put a council member with the highest possible command value (25 points are always the best) on them and use the "operation points" resource to increase the chance of success of destroying the alien fortress.

Alien fortresses not only allow the servants to hand over the nation to the aliens with complete control, they also act as spawners for Xenofauna.

But keep in mind: Destroying an alien frotress will rise the alien threat level. Make sure that the alien threat level stays low, otherwise the aliens make you a very bad day.
8. Destroy incoming Alien Battleships
If an alien ship is flying towards Earth and wants to enter Earth orbit and doesn't want to fly to a ship or station for whatever reason, try to destroy that ship. You will be automatically notified if this happens. After the popup, you always have some time to prepare for an attack.

These ships usually act as transporters for alien agents. The probability that there is an alien agent on that ship is very high. Destroying that ship will also kill the alien inside. Once the ship is in orbit and the next round starts, the alien will land on Earth and the incredibly annoying search can begin.

The longer the game runs, the longer the rounds will become in weeks. This gives you more time to react to the aliens and space combat in general becomes more important as the game progresses.
9. Make other Factions to Allies
If you can make other factions your allies, you no longer have them as enemies. This is important so that they do not waste their resources on you and you can indirectly encourage them to fight the aliens just as you do.

Every faction always has 6 council members at some point, try to use them through alliances!
FK NO WHY?!
Oh no, oh dear! My day is ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable! My life is over! *Turns into an emo*

An alien has stolen a control point from you!! What do you do now?! Your mother won't help you, take the reins into your own hands!

All is not lost, even if you lose a nation completely there are ways to get the nation back.
10. Recapture only with espionage "purge"
If your country has a high democracy value, high social support for your faction (70% and more) and/or a low GDP, you can simply assign a council member to the stolen point with "purge". Your council member should always have 25 espionage here. The chances should already be high without additional resources, and if you use influence you will always be able to get the point back with a minimum chance of 95%.
11. Y U make Meganations?
If you can't resist building meganations, at least make sure that they have a high democracy value and that social support is at least 75%. From here on, you may need to use Crackdown on this control point.
If China has not been divided or Americanized with democracy, it will be almost impossible to take China out of the hands of the aliens. The effort involved will be extremely high.
12. Take your neighbors
If you can't take your nation because the chances of success are too low, try to take neighboring nations (USA - Canada, USA - Mexico, Germany - Poland, Germany - France) to increase the chances of success through pressure from neighbors. Always try to have a reserve.
13. Viva la revolución!
If you have completely lost your nation and other nations are no alternative for you, you can attempt a coup. Increase the unrest in the country to the maximum, increase social support in your favor and start a coup. The nation will lose some GDP, but it will be credited immediately and, if the social support for your faction is very high, you will receive all control points after the coup.
14. Make War, not love
The servants have some nations or the aliens have their ugly alien-nation, so its time for:

OPERATION D-DAY !

You can try to invade them and dig some oil. The USA has the best military at the beginning (6 armys with full size of there navy) and you should use it. Build more armys with the usa und build the navys for it, pump some IP in "military" for a higher military value. Boost your IP Production with the councillor mission "advise", it is best to use a councilor with the highest value available to you in administration and science (administration for IP [pls use 25 administration], science for... science obviously).
Finaly: When the aliens have there own nation, the are blocked from the sea and cant invade other countries above the sea = The cant invade YOU!
You = The USA, because its your nation of choice.

!! BUT NEVER !!

invade the aliens capital or other capital's from enemy nations when they have nukes, or the earth will end in Fallout New Vegas and you have to discovered the FEV or worse, your armies, the nation and the GDP from the entire earth will completely destroyed and you have to rebuild all of this, especially your military or the USA global police.
15. WIN
If you have done everything right, the chances of the Earth not sinking into a nuclear holocaust are much lower. Avoid world wars and eliminate alien armies as quickly as possible.
If they land on earth, place all available armies at the landing point. If they land somewhere in Africa or Central/South America or in very poor countries that no one notices, just drop atomic bombs on them and destroy the armies. The world will thank you later.

Peace through Power!
