By GHOST
In this guide, I'll show you a few easy steps to once again be able to play this game with your friends. Let me know if this helps! Please rate and give this a thumbs up if it was helpful for you, I would greatly appreciate it!

This is a work in progress, so a few things might be changed around a little as I did this guide super late at night. (I NEED SLEEP LOL)

Feel free to add me/ message me with any questions.

OVERVIEW
If you're here, you're probably wondering "How the hell do I setup a multiplayer game with my homies? Isn't this game dead? Aren't the servers dead too?" Yes, sadly. The DEV's went MIA and the servers are non-existent, but I have a solution (FINALLY!)

You will need 3 things to connect to your friends games:
1. The same version of the game that your buddy has (Steam OR Non-Steam version)
2. A VPN software like Radmin or Hamachi to connect remotely via a LAN connection (Use same VPN to ensure connection to your friends lobby)
3. And your friends IP address (Can be found in the VPN software)

NOTE: I'm pretty sure you can't play with friends that have different versions of the game (Steam VS Non-Steam versions). You may also need the same VPN to connect properly.

STEP 1: Get A Copy of Iron Grip: Warlord
First things first. You need to get the FULL game. You have two options:

1: STEAM VERSION You can buy it here: (Link to all sites where Iron Grip can be bought from)[www.allkeyshop.com]
2: NON-STEAM VERSION You can download it for FREE at Archive.org -> Search "Iron Grip Warlord" and it'll pop up. (Steam won't let me post the link without thinking it's a malicious link)

NOTE: I believe you will need the same version of this game as your friends to play in the same lobby.

After you get the game, you can move onto the next section: Selecting a VPN.
STEP 2: Selecting a VPN
Now that you got a Steam version or full free version of the game, you can now move onto selecting a VPN to use to connect to your buddies lobbies!

The two VPN's I recommend are:
1. Hamachi (Hamachi's Website)[vpn.net]
2. Radmin (Radmin's Website)[www.radmin-vpn.com]

If there are any more VPN's you recommend for LAN connection, please feel free to let me know so I can add them here!

Now, click "Download" and install the VPN you want. (Please make sure you have the same VPN as your friends!)

After downloading your VPN, create an account and login.

After logging in, someone needs to create a network that your friends can all join.

To Setup a Hamachi LAN server, follow this guide: (Hamachi Setup Guide)

To Setup a Radmin LAN server, follow this guide: (Radmin Setup Guide)[radmin-club.com]

Once everyone is connected to the LAN server, everyone can launch their games.
STEP 3: Joining Your Friend's Game
Now you're onto the fun part! (Almost).

Everyone needs to launch Iron Grip: Warlord.

Decide who is going to host the game.

Once everyone launches the game, the host will setup a game by going to "START GAME" -> "INTERNET" -> "PLAY"

Once the host has loaded into the game, everyone else needs to press the "~" key (under the ESC key on your keyboard) to open the console. Then everyone needs to type in "/connect (HOSTS IP address)"

Example: /connect 12.24.420.123

DON'T PRESS ANYTHING YET! WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO GET IN FIRST OR ELSE THE ROUND WILL START WITHOUT THEM IN THE LOBBY!

NOTE: You can join in after the game is already going as well!

Once everyone is loaded in and has confirmed they are ready to start the game, one person hits "ENTER" on their keyboard. This will start a count down. Once the countdown starts, the host should hit "ENTER" as well to make sure their game starts too.

Once all of this is done, You can play a multiplayer match! WOOHOO!!!

NOTE: You will have to reconnect after each game if you want to change the map.

I know this is a lot, but this game was one of my favorite childhood games so I thought it would be fun to run some games back with the IG Warlord OG's.

Share this guide with the IG Warlord community and to others you think would like the game to spread the word!

Hey Ashelia!

Thanks for the kind words! We were super bummed out about the game being dead (as it was one of our favorites back in the day) and we wanted to give it a proper community revival. It really sucks that it ended the way it did for you guys...

If you're down to connect, reminisce, and play some IG Warlord with us, feel free to join us! Here's the link to our Discord server: https://discord.gg/EsMcUjsNqr

Oh also, we do game nights every Saturday too. We'd love for you to join us!

Hey as one of the first devs on this game (so many years ago!), I wanted to say this is really cool. The company fired its devs without pay and I'd left before that point, but it really hurt a lot of folks and the game was totally a labor of love for the team. So it's nice to see someone trying to keep it alive. :demonheart:

Thanks for the feedback! I updated that section. I guess Steam doesn't like that link and thinks it's malicious.

Hi there! Really well done with the guide. I do want to say that your link to the non-Steam version is broken. I think it would just be better to just advise people to look up "Iron Grip Warlord" on Archive.org . Other than that, I think it might be worthwhile to create a Discord group dedicated to Warlord match events. I know I'd join. I'll add you too.
