Introduction
Hello! I made this guide to explain in detail why you should play this class (It's fun!). Bandit was my third character but turned out to be my favorite with the positional abilities and high mobility they have at their disposal, extremely stylish too! I love the armor!

Become a Bandit we have:

Crazy burst damage
Dash skills for days (Zip and hop!)
Triple jump
Evasion/Crit Chance/Max Stamina group wide buff all in one (only 10 mana and 100% uptime!)
You punch things until they die
You can run the enemy's pockets (Yes, including bosses)
Katars are cool
All the icons are colored green and I like that color (red is my favorite color)
Disclaimer
I will only be covering melee skills as in my opinion I find it to be the most fun compared to ranged (I don't like fiddling with Volley's AOE to land properly since enemies move quick and gap close) Spreadshot is a good alternative

Bow is aight but melee is more of my cup of tea :P

Lookit how cute my boy is, I love him so much AHHHHH!!
Races
Poon and Byrdle are preferred but any race is fine it's your playthrough :)
You can learn racial actives through scrolls which are dropped by chests in Catacombs or bought from Frankie who sells Leg Up at Tuul Valley
Skill Points
When making a character I put 5 Dex, 3 Vitality. Good amount of damage and health!

2 points into Dex and 1 into Vitality per level up is fine. Here's my stat page for reference. This HP is what I'm comfortable with however if you feel you need more then level up some more or respec your skill allocation accordingly. You can buy a Tome of Naivety from tier 2 of Sally's shop to reset your attribute points.

General Skill Overview
Up first is Katar Mastery! Jump attack is multi-hitting and has amazing forward mobility. Block cancel mid-air to reset the landing animation then Dash -> Jump Attack to keep momentum going.

Charge Attack is quick and hits 7-8 times, weave it in between your abilities for effective damage.

Inner Focus is what you'll use before Killer Jab for maximum damage effectiveness. Payday doesn't do as much damage as your opener but if you prefer to Stun the enemy first then Inner Focus + Killer Jab, that works too.

You could use Bomb Trap with Inner Focus but that would require grouping enemies before hand and hoping the radius hits every enemy (provided they didn't already move out of the way with their high mobility).

Leg Up pairs really well with this class. You zoom and become harder to hit, very good for repositioning or kiting enemies to group them up together.

I appreciate the icon's cute beans!
Bandit Skills
Your engage, use this as your opener after Inner Focus. Attack dashes into a straight line, this can pierce enemies. The poison DOT is fine but the Def. debuff is good, increasing follow-up Charge Attacks and Skills (Payday or Bomb Trap).

Similar functionality to Killer Jab, straight line attack that pierces except this time it Stuns and mugs the enemy, dropping coins/coin bags on the ground. They won't have any money left when that Steam sale comes around

Best used after a Pay Day, plant it on the enemy cluster and blow them to smithereens! (Although chances are they might not be dead, an auto attack should finish it).

Good for disengage however I noticed I used this less once I learned to properly Dash-Jump Attack consecutively away from the enemy then pop health pots then re-engage into the pack. Don't get me wrong it's still a good tool for the Bandit however it's not for me anymore. You can also use this ability to stall out cooldowns and wait for them to refresh before re-engaging.

Mandatory skill, great utility and effects allies too. The evasion makes it easier for enemies to miss while the crit chance boosts your dmg output, extra stamina for blocking and parrying.

Triple Jump my beloved, very good. I'm going to be real I rarely use the hop since I find it not giving me enough distance compared to the dash-attack cancels I spam. I might have to do more testing in the future but as it stands I only use the dash long jump with a jump attack then cancel. The hop is cute so I can't knock it that much.
Loadout
Your character loadout will generally look like this but feel free to experiment

Passives: Katar Mastery (2/2) and Agile Technique (3/3)

Active slot bar:

Killer Jab (5/5)
Pay Day (4/4)
Bomb Trap (4/4)
Inner Focus (3/3)
Leg Up (3/3)
Devious Signet (6/6)
Bow
Finally got around to it, you silly bow users can rest easy now. Know this however I'm still a filthy Katar user through and through, no changing my mind >:)

Bows are good although there are some weird design decisions made with the skills that hold it back I find.

Bow skills

Ranger Mastery is mandatory, more attack speed means more damage output. Charge-attack hits 4 times.

Venom Shot. Weak, single-target, needs a buff to damage. Doesn't pierce multiple enemies. It's Killer Jab but worse. Take Killer Jab over this skill.

Good damaging skill hindered from both positioning and timing from the player. Use case: run around until enemies are grouped behind you then fire Volley infront of yourself then dash slighty past it.

For faster enemies that catch up I suggest holding position infront of the Volley's AOE (Blocking or parrying) as damage rains on them, disengage and repeat when cooldown resets.

Novice Skill scroll can be bought by Frankie for 500 Crowns in Tuul Valley (second fork in the road at the metal fences, go right and they're there in a corner by some tents). You can also find them as random drops from chests inside Catacombs dungeon.

This skill is good like Volley but without any of the conditionals. Functions like a wide-range shotgun blast, good for AOE on hordes of mobs and even better if used for a guaranteed crit from Inner Focus although you'll usually save that for Killer Jab.

Bow Hotbar

This is what I used for my dungeon runs.
Killer Jab (5/5)
Payday (4/4)
Volley (3/3)
Spread Shot (3/3)
Inner Focus (3/3)
Devious Signet (6/6)

The other loadout I used although it requires more positioning and better timing from the player.
Killer Jab (5/5)
Payday (4/4)
Volley (3/3)
Inner Focus (3/3)
Leg Up (3/3)
Devious Signet (6/6)

You're free to experiment with whatever combination you like at the end of the day these loadouts worked for me. Find what works best for yourself and stick with it, it's your playthrough and decision at the end of the day :)
Equipment
For gear I'll keep this brief and simple. Dexterity is your damage stat. Precise Enchantment is what you should imbue on your gear as for stats to lookout for when gear hunting:

Dex Power
Critical
Evasion

Stamina is optional but do know this class gets lot's of it through their class specific gear as shown above.
Potions (Levels 20+)
Before I forget, potions! Important part of your dungeoneering!

Bunbags

These bad boys full heal you and while a bit pricey at first (Sally & Craig sell them) you will be able to afford them after tier 3 Catacombs or Crescent Grove clears. You can also get 5 of them as a guaranteed reward from Angela's Consumed Madness quest.

Stamstars
Essential for Bandit regardless of your weapon or move list.

You can buy Stamstars from Sally, Frankie, or Craig. They're also quest rewards from the cleared dungeon quests most notably the Spiraling In The Grove quest giving the most Stamstars as of 1.5.8a.

Simple tip: Consumables drop frequently from chests and breakable objects, these vases from Crescent Grove are the best source of consistent Stamstar farm for me (buying it too obviously)

Magiclove
Since there's no 40MP pot I'll put this one here. It's easy to farm from dungeons and repeat quests (Crescent Grove related) so you'll rack these up in your inventory quick.

Minchroom Juice
Dropped by Red/Blue Minchrooms at the Crescent Grove. Not your first pot to use but rather your second in case you start taking serious damage. This pot is great!

Utility Potions
Making this category here to wrap up all the stat boosting and regen pots into one category. Defense Potion makes you tanky, Mgk Potion is Defense Potion but reduces magic damage taken, Evasion Potion makes enemies Miss you when attacking. All these three potions acquired by Enok's Purging The Grove quest.

Regeneration Potion, I rarely use this since I use Bunbag or Minchroom Juice to top myself off to get back into the fight right away. I forget I have this on hand but it's still useful for sustained healing in between your main pots cooldowns. Unfortunately currently (as of patch 1.5.8a) there doesn't seem to be a merchant to buy these from or a repeatable quest to farm to acquire more of these.

Conclusion
Hey! You made it to the end! I hope this guide helped you and thanks for giving it a read!

This was my first ever guide on Steam, I admit I was nervous but I'm sure I did a good job conveying my point across about this class. I LOVE Bandit to a unhealthy degree and this class is just too much fun hahah!

For anyone coming across this later, as I just did, the damage cap on weapons has been removed, so keep that in mind too.

@Da Wrecka oh thanks for reminding me! That was the reason I ran multiple Precise enchants, for my skill dmg

Something to remember is that weapons have a damage cap. Using katars as an example, once your Dex Power reaches a certain point - dictated by the weapon's level - the weapon damage won't go up any more. Skills aren't capped this way, so increased Dex Power does still have an effect; but for weapons, the effect isn't so much diminishing returns, as it is "suddenly no more returns at all". This is the reason I've mainly gone with using Killer/Precise/Magical enchants on some of my gear to get enough Power, and putting the majority of my stat points into Vitality with Lively enchants on other gear to increase survivability.

@Tetsu Yeah sturdy is great. Though I'd also recommend divine even if you don't have anything in Mind. It heals way better than regenerate and the healing condition is easier to manage if you are face tanking with sturdy, though if you have tons of bunpots it isn't mandatory.

Also Mist Veil is an option for healing as well, and while it doesn't heal as much it also gives you a pretty lengthy amount of time to take a breather, pick up items and take consumables mid battle.

This is my current Katar setup:

Killer Jab (5/5)
Pay Day (4/4)
Mist Veil (4/4)
Divine (3/3)
Sturdy (3/3)
Devious Signet (6/6)

(also if anyone has issues finding skill scrolls, Skrit the Gambler behind Sally's shop has a chance to give them for 1000 gold under the consumables tab. Though Divine is only available late game once you have crescent grove unlocked and will be sold by a shopkeeper just outside of Crescent Keep behind a portal)

I wish mist veil would give maybe a 1.25x damage multiplier on the first attack you use out of it or something. its really cool but doesnt feel worthwhile to use sometimes...

Thank you for the guide! Could I ask what your keybinds are?

@CosmoWolf Sturdy is really good I agree, makes it easier to focus on damage than defending, i run it on my Fighter and it goes hard
