Hey guys, I just finished 100% of the achievements for IXION.
My favorite game so far.
Beyond Time and Space achievement, was the hardest for me.
According to the description, this is about finishing the chain of events concerning the strange spheres.
And you will learn that they are actually really hungry ! Let's get into it !

In chapter 2 : Star system called Immortan (Ice Field)
Twin-Tailed Comet called Rockatansky D79
Establish infrastructure to support exploration and geological analysis (4 Cycles)
Descend to the cavity and study the sphere (4 Cycles)

So, 5 CREW MEMBERS are lost, swallowed by the sphere. The scientific ship and Rokatansky D79 are destroyed.


In chapter 3 : Star system called Theta Crucis (Stellar Storm)
Planet called CRUC-P-43
Use explosives (2 Cycles)
Examine sphere (3 Cycles)
Study the Concentric Circles (3 Cycles)
Leave the planet

Just note that Use explosives (3 options before crew/ship loss) is the best option compared to Drill through the crust (2 options before crew/ship loss); because you will obtain 40 extra science outcome.
Note as well that ONLY 1 CREW MEMBER must be lost in this event; not the ENTIRE ship's team. The ship must NOT be destroyed.

BE CAREFULL, you MUST have a transmission from the ship's team saying that 1 member was "LEAPED ON TO THE SPHERE" and was "SUCKED IN". If you don't have this message; a mistake have been done and you have to retry.


According to the picture below, just note that you have to investigate several points of interest before you can reach CRUC-P-43. Completed investigations make the stellar storm moving and allow you to go through.


In chapter 4 : Magnetar Pulsar called PSR B1257+12A
Planet called PSR B1257+12F
Find the crew member who disappeared in CRUC-P-43 (2 cycles) (ie : "Find MARIO GOYA")
Establish infrastructure to support advanced analysis (optional) (3 cycles)
Leave the planet


In chapter 5 : Star system called Ilia (Yellow Dwarf)
Planet called Vulcan
BE CAREFULL, do NOT probe a planet called Aventine until you have finished all the events on Vulcan.
Study the electromagnetic disturbances (2 cycles)
Analyze the sphere (2 cycles)
Naomi Protocol: allow the team free rein (2 cycles)
Leave the comet

Note that 1 CREW MEMBER enter the sphere and is lost in this event.

In chapter 5 : Star system called Ilia (Yellow Dwarf)
Planet called Aventine
Build the NatSchatch transmitter (Hidden choice) (2 cycles)
Deploy the NatSchatch transmitter (2 cycles)
Balance will be our Doctrine


Congratulations Administrators, you now have the achievement, "yet in this moment, all seems limpid to you. You are outside of space and time, beyond even self-similar space. You are on board the entities that Barjaville described only in story".

IN DOLOS WE TRUST
Hidden Achievement : This is fine (spoilers)

Difficulty mode : challenge

Administrators, one day I will colonize Romulus in less than 500 cycles in challenge difficulty, but for now, I will tell you how to have the This is fine. achievement.
According to the description, this is about having fires in 20 buildings at the same time.
You will may be need SEVERAL ATTEMPTS before obtaining this achievement.

I would recommend to make this in CHALLENGE DIFFICULTY, because the easier the game is, the longer the time is, between 2 PIRANESI's missile launches. That is about 7 minutes and 30 seconds (in normal time speed) in journey difficulty, and this is WAY TOO LONG ! Don't worry, I will explain you why below.

I would recommend as well to make this in CHAPTER 5, easier way compared to the chapter 4 confrontation, because drone swarms are really disturbing and damages are insane. Please note here that there is actually SEVERAL REASONS, drone swarms is just the worst of them.

So, before we start, let's make an unnecessary but really pragmatic quick look at the situation in the chapter 5 :
  • Structural failure of the Tiqqun is near (250 remaining hull units),
  • Remus is already colonized,
  • The Ashtangites tells you that you are not necessarily welcome on their planet,
  • An angry and hungry BMS warship (PIRANESI) is coming soon, and this is because of you,
  • Neither your VVS nor the Ashtangites got weapon or military solution against this half digital creature,
  • Eventually feeling the pressure, uncompromising crew members are questioning your decisions,
  • As she keeps some information from you, Edden is may be no longer on your side.
This is fine !

Once you reach the Ilia system a countdown is starting.
In normal time speed, you have about 9 minutes before receiving an incoming transmission from Agora (Ashtangites's representative) and Remus is automatically revealed in this star system.
Still in normal time speed, you have about 43 minutes before the PIRANESI enter the star system.

Solely driven by the eager desire to destroy the Tiqqun, the PIRANESI starts to open fire, launching a missile every 2 minutes and 20 seconds (in challenge difficulty and normal time speed).

Moving like a shinny leaf in the wind, a missile reaches the Tiqqun and inflicts between 100 and 200 damage to the hull (regardless of the difficulty), several accidents and UP TO 2 FIRES to random buildings.

A fire lasts 1 minute (in time normal speed) and can RANDOMLY evolve in 3 different ways :
  • Auto extinguish,
  • Create an accident in the building and spread to ONE another adjacent building (even passing over one road) (randomly chosen),
  • Burn during another minute in the same building (so, same building can burn during several minutes).
Obviously the building is not operational when it burns.
Fires inside the Tiqqun DONT GENERATE ANY ADDITIONAL FIRES.
Fires don't have any incidence on the hull depletion unlike the accidents (+20 hull depletion for each accident, in challenge difficulty).

In order to create this guide, after several attempts, several hours, I never reached more than 6 FIRES, at the same time, in the same sector. The hull have to take A LOT of damages (I mean A LOT !), before you reach the achievement.

So, BRACE FOR IMPACT. The fight will be one sided, crew members will die, the stability will fall down quickly and the hull repair balance per cycle will be crushed.

Administrators, looking at your eyes, I understand your feelings as I experienced this before. Obviously life is over-rated and this warship is overreacting a little bit, but even if you feel yourself exposed now to unseen vulnerabilities, you came all the way here for ONE SINGLE PURPOSE, and whatever happens now, you will stay deeply loyal to DOLOS.
This is fine ?

In chapter 5 : Star system called Ilia (Yellow Dwarf)
Planet called Palatine (Tiqqun's closest planet after VHOLE jump).
Stay close to Palatine, you have about 43 PRECIOUS MINUTES to get ready (in normal time speed).

HULL INTEGRITY
Construct 8 EVA airlocks, in the same sector which leads to a tier 2 space specialization.
I would recommend to construct 2 extra EVA airlocks in another sector. Even better if this sector already contain space buildings already constructed.

Construct up to 6 workshops in each sector; not less than 4 workshops.
The faster the buildings are repaired, the better, because of hull depletion (see above), and because fires CANT SPREAD ON ALREADY DAMAGED BUILDINGS.

For instance :

I would recommand to store 1000 units of alloy and to produce it during this fight.
Repairs will incurs huge alloy costs.

Unlock the EVA airlock researches :
"Tell them what they need to hear"
"Shaping worker Behavior"
"Plasma Cutter"

Unlock the workshop researches :
"Standford Initiative"
"Augmented Building Protocols"

Unlock the Tiqqun hull research :
"Kinetic Compensation Jacks", optional because I don't think it's actually working with missiles.

STABILITY
Power on stability buildings till the FIRST MISSILE LAUNCH, then power them off till the end.
Indeed, stability will fall (staility will fall anyway) but crew members will give you extra time to restore the trust in you, because this is THE LAST STAND. In the meanwhile some of them could make some FIRES DANCING IN RANDOM BUILDINGS DURING STRIKES, may it could help by adding some extra fires.

Do whatever is necessary with the resources management panel to stay alive.
Don't sell too many buildings to save time, the fires needs buildings (close to each others) to spread.
Obviously missile countermeasures are not activated and fire stations are powered off or sold.
All buildings must be close to roads, so workshop mechs can come and repair them quickly.

I assume that you already know how to make the PIRANESI coming earlier in the Ilia system, in case you should be ready sooner.
Remember as well that you can change a few difficulty parameters in the custom settings panel, may it could help.

That's a pretty guide, wish I saw this before though I already got the achievements.
