How to Protect Your Progress in the Game [You are at risk of losing your save permanently] || WIN 10/11
By Noxiss
The game is fine, but its main problem is that it doesn't have cloud saves. So, technically speaking, if you format your computer or do something else that might cause the %appdata% folder to disappear, you will lose your entire character.

In this fairly simple guide, I'll just tell you how to avoid this, or at least warn you that there are methods to safeguard yourself for the future.

Alright, the quickest way is simply to follow these steps using the Windows search feature by typing:
" %appdata% "

Next, locate the Godot folder and navigate into it. Inside, you'll find another folder named " app_userdata "

Inside this folder, you'll find all your saves. I strongly recommend making a backup, either in the cloud or on a USB drive, especially if you're planning to format your computer or make any significant changes. Even if you're not, it's still worth creating a backup, losing your progress in the game would be a shame, wouldn't it?

I hope this helps someone, happy fishing! <3

For my Linux friends out there (specifically Steam Deck), the location for the saves folder is here on your internal drive:
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3146520/pfx/<FILES_HERE>

On your SD Card, it'll be here:
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3146520/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Godot/app_userdata/webfishing_2_newver/

I wish I found this sooner. Lost all of my progress with an almost maxed out save today. I didn't even know this was an issue with the game

Even faster command, boom, copy paste this:

%appdata%\Godot\app_userdata\webfishing_2_newver

i do not have a Godot folder, and when i enter in %appdata% i only get options for the local, locallow, and roaming folders. when i navigate to webfishing's location on my computer, it gives me the .exe file :(
