EK Solace Mk-I

Description
EK 'Solace' Mk-I
Geological Survey Vessel

"The 'Solace' class frigate is a prospecting vessel designed for exploration and geological analysis. A rugged monohull with decent maneuverability and self defense capability; as well as carrying mineral scanning equipment, processing equipment, and two unmanned MSD submersibles. It's variety of capabilities makes the Solace class very popular in expeditionary & mining operation support roles. However it's small cargo capacity makes it unsuitable for large scale mining."

M.S.D.
Unmanned Submersible

"The venerable Delhi M.S.D. (Mineral Survey Drone) is an advanced self-contained remotely-operated submersible. Small enough to fit inside many of Europa's ice caves, reasonably long range, and armed with a standalone coilgun. The M.S.D. can survey cave systems alone, or assist in coordination with diving survey teams."

Role: Drone

Ammunition loading & overhead bustle can be accessed while docked. However manual repairs can only be done from outside the hull due to limited space access.

I don't really have any specific plans for more submarines, feel free to suggest what kind of subs you are interested in seeing made. For example: should I bother making more industrial/cargo submarines like the Huxley, or a newer up-to-date carrier submarine, or maybe a submarine less campaign focused and more roleplay/traitors oriented?

-with the new DLC announcement, honestly expect releases of submarines to be more infrequent again as I don't have much motivation to invest in this game now.

( Also expect that potential "EK mods remaster" to not happen after all )

Hi, I've tried to fix the reactor's energy issue using the solution you provided, but energy is still being lost at an alarming rate. So I'm not really sure what to do, or if I'm making a mistake while trying to apply the fix.

Yeah a fair argument, super tiny buttons though can be a bit harder to notice and get kind of get hard to click when the camera is moving around alot due to submarine motion & multiplayer lag weirdness.

I tried to space it so that the bottom part of the periscope hitbox is still fairly easy to click consistently. So try clicking them lower near the handles if that helps.

Oh also my gunners were complaining that the light switches on the guns should be smaller or more offset since they kept misclicking them.

Excellent sub, probably my favorite in the game!

The drones are incredibly useful. Stocked correctly they provide divers with O2, meds, ammo, loot storage, fire support, and route guidance. Changing ammo and restocking is very easy due to the drones being very close to fab, the O2 gen, and med. The drones take damage and can be repaired with a welder, but if you don’t the drone runs out of battery quickly and is lost forever. This isn’t super clear from the design, a label for the hull damage light would help.

More generally the ship is a solid workhorse. No blindspots but not overgunned, fast driver and descender, stays afloat with minor damage, surprisingly large storage. Drowning brig is fun but stopped working properly 3 missions in. Upper airlock is a pain in the ass to use but it’s not as bad as the Aboa or Passant. No depth charge is an odd choice.

Masterpiece of a ship, I just wish there was a T3 EK ship with similar capabilities. Great work!

Nevermind it's not an item-prefab overwrite big, seems like devs introduced new wiring-component bugs in the last update or something so there's phantom signal in the calculated load.

Temporary configuration fix: Access the circuit box and change the top right multiplication component's "Clamp Maximum" to 100.

Keep in mind though that if you've applied upgrades to the submarine's reactor, or certain engineer talent upgrades. You'll need to recalculate the fission rate by dividing 100 by whatever the new max reactor output is.

( Also its generally ill advised to run with more than 2 rods, and if running 4 rods only enable automatic control from a 'cold start' - this is just general good advice with pretty much all reactors. )

What's your modlist?

dude your reactor settings suck as hell. it's unstable and don't work correctly

Reactor sometimes bug and don't do enough power

I hope you do more drone subs, theyre neat and is the first thing I look for when checking out new designs
