First, you'll need to navigate to the directory that contains the save files:
You can hit "Browse local files" and then navigate to the respective directory:

To change it, I open this file with a text editor. (the number corresponds to the slot, starts counting at 0, not 1):
Simply edit the name here, I recommend sticking to [A-z] with 18 characters max, since that's what the character creation limitation is.


Don't forget to save, then launch the game.

"But *can* you get around the 18 character, letters only limit?"


I wouldn't recommend it (and if I was hosting I'd kick someone with a name like that, they have to be trolling...)

This has been patched and now the game checks for name length and content
