If you’re experiencing memory leaks in Stalker 2, try the following steps:

  • Locate the Engine.ini file
    Go to the folder:
    %localappdata%\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows


  • Edit the file
    Open the Engine.ini file in a text editor like Notepad, Notepad++ or VSCode. (If you don't have this file you should create it)

  • Add the following lines to the end of the file:
    [/script/engine.renderersettings] r.DynamicGlobalIlluminationMethod=0 r.GraphicsAdapter=0 r.Nanite.MaxPixelsPerEdge=4 r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.RadianceCache.ProbeResolution=16 r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=0 r.Lumen.Reflections.Allow=0

  • Save the changes
    Make sure you save the file before closing the editor.

  • Test the fix
    Launch the game and see if the memory leaks issue has been resolved.

  • Additional note:
    By making these adjustments, approximately 70% of shadows will be removed from the game. While this reduces graphical fidelity, it can significantly improve performance and stability for systems experiencing memory leaks.
