There are a bunch of powerful men in the game why can't there be a handful of powerful women??? It's still like ten to one for powerful men to women, which is realistic for 1899 so I don't have a problem with it. But also there's major historical backing for those powerful women in the west, they existed then, like Annie Oakley or outlaws Calamatie Jane and Pearl Hartt. And woe is me there are some black people in America in 1899 and sometimes people are racist to them?! When could that have happened?! Oh yeah, all the time then. And yeah, Bill is gay but they literally do everything they can not to shove it in your face. It's incredibly easy to miss. There's diversity in real life so get over it in a video game.
