Hello fellow hackers!
Have you tried to play Watch_Dogs online but you cannot connect to the Ubisoft servers?

The problem is that your Ubisoft account does not have the online authorization to play. Follow these steps to get a code from Ubisoft to get access!

1. You will need some evidence before you start. Gather the following before contacting support to make it easier on you.
-1a. Screenshot: In-Game Error of not being able to connect to servers.










-1b. Screenshot: Watch_Dogs Steam Purchase Receipt. This screenshot must show the Steam window maximized with the desktop taskbar in view. Personally, I also provided a screenshot of the other Steam receipt you can get via a link in the first one but it may not be required.
-1c. Video: Main menu to gameplay showing you progressed past the mission "2XTheTap" (just fully complete Act 1 first because the progression tree does not show the mission), then attempt to connect online, finishing the video at the error. Upload the video to a YouTube account and set it to public visibility.

2. Contact Ubisoft Support while logged into the account you play with. Choose support for Watch_Dogs 1 and PC then be detailed about the error and ask for a DLC Code for Online Play. <- This is important!!!! You need to ask for the DLC Code!!!
2a. Provide both screenshots in the file uploader and the link to your YouTube video.

3. Ubisoft will contact for more info or to tell you they escalated your case to someone else. You will then receive a code that will grant you access to online play. CHECK YOUR EMAIL OR THE CASE, I DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTIL THEY CLOSED MY CASE
3a. Use that code on Ubisoft Connect before launching the game.

4. Profit, now go start matchmaking for Racing and Decryption.

Ubisoft support is a joke ngl, wasted a week trying to get help from them, resolved the issue by myself by buying another copy of the game on UbiStore (it's on sale now), installed it, ran it once, got my Steam copy to actually work properly

Seems like Ubisoft is finally fully moving on from Watch_Dogs 1. If this guide does not help much, keep trying to hopefully get access or consider the game servers unfortunately dead.

If you do get access, try joining a Watch_Dogs discord server and ask around for players to matchmake for achievements/progress.

John and KibaCoyote, for me the online matchmaking started working when I redeemed the key they sent me and waited a whole freakin month. Idk why it was like that. Also the support is utter shit I was typing back and forth with them for about 4 months until they said that they are overloaded and wont answer to my ticket.

It took around 2 months for Ubi Support to finally give me the key. I first activated the key on UbiCon, then launched the game from Steam (w/o closing UbiCon), but I still get an error while trying to play online. No idea what I should do at this point lol.

The support is really weird and so is the online mode.

Support wont help you and when they do, they give you a code that wont do anything.
Online mode didnt work at the time when I was playing. 2 months later when I gave up, I opened Watch_Dogs to see if anything changed and to my surprise it was working BUT noone plays the online mode so youll have to search for players in the Ubisoft Discord.

This is the reply I got from Ubisoft support:

"Please note that we have now stopped post-launch support on this game, as our development team has moved on to other projects.

We have no further updates planned for this title, so this issue will most likely remain in the game, also keep in mind that due to the age of the game, this servers might not have enough players playing online at the same time and due to this the game is not connecting to the online mode."

In order to find your receipt you have to go to "Account Settings", then to "View purchase history".
After that just look for Watch Dogs and screenshot it.

what if I don't have the receipt?
