To unlock a technique +, first max it out in a previous match.
A synergy happens when you max a technique and get the right gear in another match.
If your temtem can evolve, make sure to evolve or block evolution when prompted so you can pick synergies.

Water Techniques

Water Blade +

To unlock Water Blade: Play with Platypet to unlock it for others Temtem.
To unlock Hydro Turbine: Unlocked by default.

Fluid Barrier +

To unlock Fluid Barrier: Deal 12,500 damage with Water type Techniques.
To unlock Fortify Band: Unlocked by default.

Water Cannon +

To unlock Water Cannon: Defeat Oceara in less than 1 minute.
To unlock Holster: Survive 10 minutes in Cipanku.

Wave +

To unlock Wave: Play with Platypet.
To unlock Heatsink: Use Platypet's Ultimate 20 times in a match.

Ice Shuriken +

To unlock Ice Shuriken: Defeat Yowlar in less than 60 seconds.
To unlock Ice Cream: Survive 10 minutes in Kisiwa.

Nature Techniques

Sharp Leaf +

To unlock Sharp Leaf: Defeat Tyranak in less than 1 minute.
To unlock Nectar Vial: Deal 1,300 damage with Nature type techniques.

Revitalize +

To unlock Revitalize: Deal 16,000 damage with Nature type techniques.
To unlock Reanimation Booster: Play with Kinu 3 times.

Resin Trap +

To unlock Resin Trap: Play with Kinu.
To unlock Growth Balm: Travel 10,000 meters across Cipanku.

Roots +

To unlock Roots: TBC.
To unlock Endurer's Favor: Win a match without Smazee evolving.

Toxic Techniques

Pollution +

To unlock Pollution: Deal 12,500 damage with Toxic type Techniques.
To unlock Biotoxin Matter: Deal 1,000 damage with Toxic type Techniques.

Toxic Ink +

To unlock Toxic Ink: Unlocked by default.
To unlock Toxins: Playing Platypet, reach level 25.

Toxic Waste +

To unlock Toxic Waste: Equip at least 3 Toxic techniques.
To unlock Holocore: Defeat Gorong.

Noxious Bomb +

To unlock Noxious Bomb: Defeat Gharunder in less than 1 minute.
To unlock Stim Pack: Deal 15,000 damage with Data Burst.

Venom Spread +

To unlock Venom Spread: Deal 2,700 total damage with Zephyruff.
To unlock Poisonous Dash: Beat at least 7 Spots on Tucma in a single match.

Neutral Techniques

Fierce Claw +

To unlock Fierce Claw: Unlocked by default.
To unlock Resistance Badge: Deal 1,000 damage with Neutral type Techniques.

Ki Field +

To unlock Ki Field: Unlocked by default.
To unlock Oozing Scent: Deal 15,000 damage with Ki Field.

Roar +

To unlock Roar: Unlocked by default.
To unlock Dash Booster: Playing Oree, reach level 25.

Rotten Zone +

To unlock Rotten Zone: Open 10 chests.
To unlock Four-leaf Clover: Playing Innki, reach level 50.

Expanding Force +

To unlock Expanding Force: Travel 1,300 meters across Cipanku in a single match.
To unlock Wonder Cream: Defeat 1,000 Hocus.

Rainbow Guard +

To unlock Rainbow Guard: Unlocked by default.
To unlock Dash Kit: Play with Oree 3 times.

Darkness +

To unlock Darkness: Earn 666 Pansuns in a single match.
To unlock Hexed Eye: Survive 10 minutes in Arbury.

Martial Strike +

To unlock Martial Strike: Play with Smazee to unlock it for others Temtem.
To unlock Thermal Paste: Unlocked by default.

Oshi-Dashi +

To unlock Transistor: Deal 15,000 damage with Tornado.

Haito Uchi +

To unlock Haito Uchi: Equip at least 3 Melee techniques.

Data Corruption +

To unlock Data Corruption: Play with Oree to unlock it for others Temtem.
To unlock Kaleidogrease: Use Mechanical Heat (Oree Ultimate) 50 times in total.

Turbo Attack +

To unlock Turbo Attack: Deal 12,500 damage with Digital type Techniques.

To unlock Hologram: Heal yourself for 1,000 HP in a match.

Beta Burst +

To unlock Beta Burst: Deal 12,500 damage with Mental type Techniques.

You should change the unlock requirement for Heatsink, its 20 times now, according to game itself

Very useful and direct guide, the images help quickly visualize and also help me to remember and not have to check back what I've seen 2 mins ago xD

Also good on the tip of blocking evolution if you're trying for a no evolution kudo/challenge. I did figure that myself a couple days ago, but if it was included in the guide (during the introduction?) maybe that would've helped me a few runs earlier ;P

In that case, you can use the block to prevent the evolution from appearing in the game. The block is obtained in the Temtem skill trees.
