How to downgrade the game to restore the original high quality graphics

If you weren't aware, the Brotherhood update to the game severely downgraded the graphics, the devs could have very easily created a beta branch which allows you to restore the game's original charm with a single click, but they seem to only be concerned with profits, anyways here's how you can make the game good again:

  • First of all, you'll need to open up the steam console, you can do this by opening Run on your computer, this can be done by searching for it, or by clicking Win+R.

  • Once the console is open, paste in this command and click enter: download_depot 1103860 1103861 8678823462881895640

  • It may seem like it's doing nothing, but just wait (It could take a few hours depending on your download speed, it'll take around the same amount of time it does to download the game normally), when it's done it'll give you the location the depot has been downloaded to, open up your files and locate it.

  • Once you've found the depot files, copy the whole WindowsNoEditor folder, and bring it over to the files of Wizards: Dark times, you can find these by right clicking the game in steam, hovering over manage, and then clicking Browse Local Files, once you're there delete everything and paste the WindowsNoEditor folder.

  • Return to your steam library, right click the game and go to properties, go to updates and select "Only update this game when I launch it".

  • Finally, boot up the game and see the difference between the new and old graphics, enjoy.

What is that "steam console" you are referring? Win+R will just open the "Run" dialog from windows, not from steam. :mysterion:
