This started as a study on creating urban environments. I had always struggled with getting believable looking urban locations because of layouts and the general aesthetic. I have some urban Ascot map ideas in mind but if I was going to make them, I have to get urban locations looking right. After conducting a bit of research, I decided to weld American and British urban architecture together to get something that looks vaguely familiar but believable.

I also got a bit carried away and tied it to the story of Ascot during its blackout. It happens. It's also a very small map, essentially a novelty map so don't expect much except for pretty visuals.
